And he’s a registered sex offender, too. Bonus!
New Paltz, NY – Note to registered sex offenders: Becoming that weird creepy stalker guy is never a wise move in the wake of your rape conviction. But that’s just the kind of guy Stephen R. Axelson is. Axelson, 58, is obsessed with a woman to the extent that he’s entered her house without permission, entered her boyfriend’s house while she was there, and even tried to run her car off the road.
Axelson is already on the sex offender registry for having sex with a 16 year old girl in 2005. He was a skiing coach at New Paltz High School, she was one of his students. That earned him convictions on two counts of felony rape and one count each of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal contempt. Axelson got six months in jail, ten years probation, and Level Two offender status. Apparently that six months wasn’t long enough.
This new victim, who has not been identified for her own safety, doesn’t want Creepy Steve hanging about. She asked him to leave her alone. Her boyfriend asked him to leave her alone. But Creepy Steve Axelson doesn’t take no for an answer.
Axelson entered the woman’s home without her permission earlier this month. On Thursday, Axelson found the woman at her boyfriend’s house and barged right in while the couple was there. So the boyfriend threw him out. But as the couple was headed for the police station to file a report, Creepy Steve forced the woman’s vehicle off the road and got out to confront the woman. The boyfriend physically restrained Axelson for a few moments until Axelson got away and ran.
Stephen Axelson has been charged only with misdemeanors in this case: two counts of trespassing and one count of reckless endangerment. I guess they’ll give him a little more probation, and then when he rapes and/or kills this victim, I can put him back up here under the headline “New Paltz, You Dumbasses, I Told You This Would Happen.” Or something shorter that will fit into my headline space.
