Sherri Lynn Wright Is A Crackhead

Muskogee, OK - 19-month-old Gregory Hutcheson is in serious condition after his babysitter shook him on January 31. Sherri Lynn Wright, 38, wouldn’t have reported anything wrong with Gregory at all, except the baby’s twelve year old sister went to check on him after school. The sister called their mother at work and told her that “Gregory doesn’t look right.”

Gregory’s mother left work and took the baby to the hospital, where he was found to have multiple bruises, brain hemorrhages and a lateral skull fracture, causing severe injury to his brain. A police affidavit shows that Gregory, who had been at a licensed daycare the previous day, was injured during the time that Wright was alone with him, between 7:30 a.m. until about 2:25 p.m. January 31.

Being the great mom she is, Wright first tried to pass Gregory’s injury off on her son, saying that her five-year-old had “struck the child in the head with a plastic fire truck”. After being Mirandized, Wright realized she was in trouble and semi-caved, saying that she “unintentionally just shook him too hard and played too roughly with him.”

Wright was also concerned about how her crack-positive drug screen would affect her probation. She’sShe reviewsShe reviews on probation for possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Now I guess she can add “child abuser” to her laundry list of great qualities. Wright is in the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on $250,000 bond on the child abuse charge.

    Oh, where to begin….

    First, kudos to 12-year-old sis for checking on him, noticing he wasn’t “right”, and calling mom.

    Second, kudos to mom for believing 12-year-old sis and leaving work to come take care of the boy.

    Third, how did they know the babysitter did it and not the 12-year-old sister? Just curious.

    Fourth, said babysitter has at least one child of her own. Bummer.

    I wonder if the mother knew babysitter was on probation for crack use. I sure hope not. Maybe the reason for incarceration and terms of probation need to be posted on the front door of offender’s houses. If I saw “On Probation after Incarceration for Crack Use” on the door, I’d find another babysitter.

    If the baby had been at a licensed daycare the day before, why wasn’t he there that day? That woman just has the total look of a crack addict, I would never leave my children with her to walk into the kitchen, let alone the whole day. Such ashame for poor Gregory.

    Well when they took the baby to the hospital, I am sure they were able to determine when the injury occurred and since the girl just came home from school, she had a pretty solid alibi.
