Frank Bortle Is An Asshole

VINELAND, N.J. – Frank Bortle, 45, has been arrested for the murder of his wife, Sharon Bortle, 35. He blew her head off with a shotgun while she sat in her vehicle while their two children watched. Their 9-year-old, who Sharon was there to pick up, ran to a neighbor’s house after the shooting. Their 4-year-old daughter was still strapped in the back of the bloody van when the police arrived.


Frank shot himself in the face one police arrived, but he survived and remains in Cooper University Hospital in critical condition. He is expected to survive. There has been a history of violence with the couple, According to police, on December 16th, 2007, Sharon Bortle reported that she had been assaulted by her husband. She reported that the assault had occurred on December 15th. She had a visible injury under her left eye.

Frank was arrested and was served with a temporary restraining order. Police seized 19 weapons from his home at 1514 Wheat Road. Bortle was then released on bail pending a court hearing. He also surrendered his Firearms Purchasers ID Card. On January 2, the restraining order was dismissed in Family Court. The criminal charges are still pending.

Sharon was a longtime teacher at Marie Durand Elementary School. Some students were sent home they were so overwhelmed by grief. I am trying to get a picture of the asshole. If you find a good one, pass it to me.

      I was the 9 year old(Austin Bortle)’s best friend………his godmother refused to take him and we’ve never talked since “the incident”. I was supposed to go over his house the next day. My parents promised me that they wouldn’t fight the day after. And today, 4 years later, they started fighting. It is the worst feeling ever. – Daniel Walters
