Robber Hates Curvy Girls, Shoots 5 in Mall

Tinley Park, IL - In what appears to be a robbery gone bad, an unidentified man entered a Tinley Park Lane Bryant store in a strip mall and shot six women on February 2.  The shooter is reported to be an African-American male between 25 and 35 years old, about 5′9″, a little curvy himself at 230 to 260 pounds, and wearing a black waist length winter coat , black jeans and a black hat. He had thick braids under a hat with one braid that hung next to his face. That braid had four green beads on it.
All six women were taken into a back room, beaten, and systematically shot. Police say this guy’s a wuss who likes to hurt women and is afraid of men, which is why they think he chose a women’s clothing store.  One victim survived a gunshot to the neck and is being held in protective custody. She reports that the gunman made sexual advances to the women and bound them with duct tape. The sixth victim managed to call 911.
The gunman entered the store after 10 a.m. SaturdaySaturday reviews
and chatted briefly with some of the victims before announcing a holdup, and may have initially feigned that he was making a delivery, sources said.   Police entered the plus-size womens apparel store and found the women dead inside.    Carrie Hudek Chiuso, 33, of Frankfort IL has been identified by her family as one of the victims. Sarah Szafranski, 22, of Oak Forest is the second shooting victim to be identified. Also killed were Connie R. Woolfolk, 37, Jennifer L. Bishop, 34, and store manager Rhoda McFarland, 42.
 Police are following leads to track down the gunman and say that investigators have received more than 90 tips. The tip hotline number is 708-444-5394.  Police are asking area beauty salons and barbershops that bead hair to go through their client lists for anyone matching the gunman’s description.Â

I bet he’d figure it would be all women in the store who would be unable to fight back. That’s why he chose that store instead of a sporting goods or a gun store. And he was right. Killed all five — and for what? Does he really think leaving no witnesses is going to help in a mall, where there are cameras everywhere?

I was thinking. If the killer is tubby and he was in a large-size store for women, maybe he had been in that store before with family or to buy something for his honey. He got to case the joint, especially if he was going with all his sisters, etc., to the mall and making stops in Lane Bryants.
I wonder what kind of sale it will take to entice people back into this store.

5.9″ .. 230 .. black guy dressed in all black.. goes into a plus-size ladies store. Sounds like he went in there to get himself something, got pissed off when he looked at the prices and decided those ladies probably had some real cash on them. Ever been in there? That shit ain’t cheap.

“Police said security cameras in the store had allowed them to tentatively identify the man, who they said has a prior history of armed robbery and a homicide conviction, WMAQ reported.
The suspect might have been spotted in a nearby housing subdivision after fleeing the scene.”

C. Thomas Howell Dies In Freak Accident
Marionville, MO (AP)- C. Thomas Howell, the actor best known for his role as Ponyboy Curtis in the 1983 film The Outsiders, died in a Marionville home yesterday. Howell was 41. Details are unclear at this time, but witnesses say that Howell was asleep in his renovated farmhouse in this sleepy Missouri town when an unidentified man set his barn on fire. The man, who was seen running from the scene, was about four feet tall with dark hair.
“He looked like he was wearing something – I don’t know, but to me it was either a red nightshirt or a dress,” said Warren Gilhouser, a neighbor. “I went back in and called 911, but there was another emergency down the way, so it took longer to get here. By then, Ponyboy was gone.”
Howell retreated from public life after a scandal in 1998 involving an alleged affair with a fifteen year old Brazilian pop singer who was later found to be carrying Howell’s child. Howell moved home to rural Missouri and appeared to be happy in later years. Marionville authorities would not comment, but one officer wiped tears as she looked at the remains of the charred farmhouse.
“Stay gold, Ponyboy,” she whispered. “Stay gold.”

The article I just read said the store had no camera, which surprised me, and the police were looking at cameras from nearby stores.
Maybe because there are lots of heavy women where I live, this story is making me feel real bad. They’re in there trying to buy clothes and some jerk kills the employee and four customers.

From what I have read, they are saying that this was an armed robbery that was interrupted. There was a sixth shooting victim who survived.

The five women came to the suburban clothing store for such ordinary
reasons.
One, the mother of a disabled child, wanted to find something nice to
wear for a rare girls’ night out.
Another needed work clothes for her first post-college job.
One was choosing an outfit to wear at a gathering of old college
friends later that night, and yet another was shopping, reportedly
while in town with her husband for a conference.
And the final victim, the manager of the Tinley Park Lane Bryant
store, came in to help on a busy Saturday, even though she had not
been scheduled to be there.

omg the poor womans husband that was in from out of town (i’m just guessing the south bend woman) what a shocker that would be. So they have no leads to who this man is yet ? There is a 6th woman that survived would that be the employee that was scheduled to work?
just a thought it could of been her boyfriend – before she left for work they had an argurment and he came to discuss it – one of the woman was ease dropping and he ordered them all in the back room and shot them for being in his business.
