Christine Telca Murei

Overland Park, KS – Christine Telca Murei, 32, was pretty ticked off when she arrived at Overland Park Regional Hospital on Tuesday to see the man she claims is her babydaddy. The man, who works in the cardiac care unit, was busy when Murei and her 16-month-old daughter showed up. When staff went to tell Murei that the alleged babydaddy couldn’t drop his cardiac patient to see her, Murei flipped out. She put her daughter down right there at the nurses’ station, backed away, and then ran.

Now, I gotta give Murei her props for not killing the baby or hurting her in some way. Obviously Christine Murei was feeling overwhelmed and was maybe even trying to do the safe thing for her child. But while abandoning a newborn at a designated safe area is legal, leaving your toddler in the CCU is not.

Hospital workers took care of the baby for part of the day. They also probably pointed and laughed at the babydaddy’s psycho girlfriend while they waited for authorities to come straighten out the unnamed babydaddy’s love life. The man told police where Murei lived, and when they got to her Overland Park apartment, there she was. Guess she just got tired of the kiddo and went home. Unfortunately, she did not fix her hair once she got there, because that mug shot is awesome.

Murei’s toddler daughter is now in the custody of the state, and she is facing charges – probably misdemeanor child abandonment charges, which means that since no child was seriously harmed, we can laugh at her mug shot. I was getting tired of dead babies, so thanks to ChristineChristine reviewsChristine reviews for taking one for the DD team. I really hope this woman has a MyspaceMySpaceMySpace.

At least she dropped the baby off with her daddy – instead of beating, burning, molesting, or in general, killing her to death.

I don’t know why this woman would leave her child – but I’m glad she did. The child is alive and well. Thank the Lord. I can’t even say a mean thing – she did what all of us have been crying out for these parents to do – just give the baby to someone else. I am grateful and thankful that she did that much.

I worked in a Cardiac Care Unit for a couple of years, and I saw some interesting things…..nothing this interesting. I can only imagine how much shit that male nurse took from his co-workers. Hahahaha. Busy shift for him.

Hello. I’m new to this website. I stumbled upon it while obsessing on the Deptford, NJ boy, whose mother slit his throat and killed him. I started obsessing about it, because I’m from NJ, and my sister lives in Deptford. Anyway, I just wanted to know if I’m a sicko for wanting to read all of these horrible stories about children getting killed. Am I totally sick or are we all just curious and dumbfounded that parents can actually kill their kids? Oh yeah, I also live in the same area as Andrea Yates (did) and that freaked me out to no end. I still can’t get that one out of my mind.

Actually, you are NOT a freak. There are hordes of people JUST LIKE US. My obsession began wiith a book I read years ago on forensic pathology. I found it fascinating what these people could tell about a death just by looking at the person’s remains. If you REALLY want to see something freaky…look up Dr. Bass’s Body Farm. REAL pictures of REAL corpses left to decay for student research.

    I don’t know but I got it too, I just put down an old AR paperback, (yes a real book) and stumbled into the TC blog-o-rama a couple weeks ago but I haven’t gotten much done since. I’m so new I still kiss alot of ass around here;

DD is my favorite and only portal to all things True Crime, Morbid is my master (although I’d swap gladly for some one-on-one training from Impqueen) If anyone needs me I’ll be in the back with the distinguished lyricist from MO, rhyming images and blowing bubbles.

Thanks Ashdavus. I have OCD and I obsess a lot. My mom wasn’t too stable while the 5 of us kids were growing up. Mental health is a scary thing. BTW – I think that Britney Spears is going to “off herself” any day now. I watch the most morbid shows on tv, and my husband keeps looking at me like I’m a freak and tells me to stop watching the stuff. I can’t help it. I love the behavioral, forensic and investigative parts of all of it. Ex.: FBI Files, New Detectives, Dr. G, Medical Examiner, Most Evil, etc. I also love the paranormal and ghost shows. To be honest, I also try to look up celebrity autopsy photos but there aren’t that many current ones. God, I sound so morbid. Anyway, I’ll keep logging on to see what sicko pops up next.

It’s clear that having a baby was cutting into her hair care time. I hope now that she’s a baby-free babymamma, she can get some magazines and work on her look. She’s got that sad, why be MEAN to me look. But as others have said, at least she let the baby live and didnt’ even torture it for fun.

I like DD a lot. I used to be a medical book editor and saw plenty of horrible photos. I guess I developed a taste for them … and the people here are so funny!

What is funny is that you know she probably warned the “baby daddy” a million times that if he didn’t do his share, she was just gonna go drop the kid off at his job. I’ve heard women threaten this all the time, I’ve never actually known of anyone who actually did it.

But yeah, she should have known that the police would eventually show up. She should took some of her free time without the baby to go get her hair did…

I think the same thing, am I a freak or what, (of course I am just ask hubby ;) ) I believe I am fascinated / shocked by what people are capable of, and saddened by the treatment of beautiful, innocent children.

My friend and I were researching the Victorian era and came across a website of infant bereavement photography, we were really captivated by the photos. We both enjoy going to the nearby historical cemetery and researching the families and their cause of death. We both have been told we are morbid.

As for momma above her daughter is probably thankful she doesn’t have to look at that hot mess any longer!

Hey Idontgetit—Welcome! I am quite new myself…at least to posting comments on all this stuff! We all have the morbid curiosity in us- Some people are just of the opinion that it isn’t “right” or polite” to want to see or read or educate yourself about all the horrid things that people do. I feel that they want to pretend that kind of thing doesn’t really happen.
Be-warned–All this baby-stuff really pulls on your heart and your conscience.
Each of us have our own background, and reasons for our curiosity- some private- some not.
I have actually begun praying a lot more for all the babies & kids who have succumed to all the adults who didn’t know any better- or care.

There used to be a great site full of death portraits. http://www.thanatopsis.com I can’t get it to work any more. The pictures of the mothers holding their dead babies were heartbreaking, such sorrow and anger, held in check by submission to God’s will, I guess.
