And when the term “nigger” was used here it was not meant to mean urban hip hop gansta people, it was meant to be used as a racist and derogatory term for blacks. Now, main stream media has taken the word over and kind of made it their own, so really I have no problem with the word wigger at all. I just don’t like to sugarcoat things.
And Wrybread, my post was not targeted to you specifically, it was a reaction to alot of the comments here in general. I don’t think her family deserves to be held back on. I think they should get it with both barrels to be honest and I think they need to be fully investigated.
And the name thing, Yeah I get it, I’ve worked with kids. I just think the world would be a really boring place if everyones name was Dick or Jane.

I would assume they had not done the deed or she would’ve guessed he could be the bio-dad, as well as the party rapists(whether that story was true or she referred to her uncle and his friend that way)

Ms. Coogan KINDLY let me know thath anyone that wanted to, could send information to DYFS (?)
Apparently she is silently admitting that she doesn’t have the time or resources to handle a new “case”.
I am not in NJ, and she didn’t exactly let me know who at DFYS (?) was in charge of placement, or a caseworker or anything as far as contact info was concerned.
I think I have been given the short version of the “brush-off”.

Jan 24, 2008 at 6:05 pm -I think social services will pay more attention to Jersey residents, unfortunately. And having had some experience with custody and DFS/CPS, i think that the points that have to be addressed are:
- sexual abuse in the family, certainly of Felicia, while family members did nothing.
- boundary issues with naked minors on Myspace, with apparent parental consent since the naughty pics are on Daddi’s friends list and he’s on hers and could see them.
- the fact that in all of the pictures, taken over several years, there are no sheets on the beds, only sheets for doors, and the house is filthy in every single shot.
Honestly, if social services is determined to give this baby back to the family there isn’t much that can be done to stop them. Had Felicia not been killed, Miciana would still be there and nobody would be thinking anything about it. Sad, but true.

Interesting article. I finally understand the family tangle. The church is taking the position that they don’t know who is guilty or innocent, they just want to make sure the family can afford a skilled investigator.

Uncle/Daddy attended church services occasionally and was well behaved in church. He also has learning disabilities and is “easily led.” If that’s the case, why didn’t Felicia’s pleas not to kill her lead him to let her go? I hate the “learning disabilities and easily led” defense.

They stopped looking for the body of Felicia Mikels and as of yesterday there is a site dedicated to her via an Aunt, there is a paragraph on the page that reads…
“Chris’s brother is Felicia’s father. He and his mother is trying to bail him out of the Camden County jail in New Jersey. They have disowned Felicia’s close sister and her 1 year old baby girl. They are also trying to gain custody of the motherless baby girl.”

Felicia’s paternal uncle Chris Mikels did apparently rape Felicia, producing Miciana. Felicia’s Daddi has thrown his daughter’s corpse under the bus so he and Felicia’s grandmother can try to get Chris out of jail, because “bros before hos” and all that dysfunctional crap. Felicia’s Daddi is a piece of shit. I think he was raping both his daughters.
Felicia’s grandmother, who produced Daddi and Uncle Chris, is also a piece of work. In keeping with the “bros before hos” line of thinking, Daddi and Grandma have also disowned Felicia’s sister Laura and Laura’s daughter Selena. Which is probably the best thing ever to happen to Laura and her child.
Geez dang, y’all, I need more coffee and a family tree or a graph or something.

Feb 1, 2008 at 3:43 pm -The Maple Shade Congregational Church of the United Church of Christ on Sunday announced that it would start a formal defense fund for Mandichak, but it has since decided that anyone who wants to provide assistance for Mandichak’s defense can do so by donating directly to the suspect’s family.
Any money given to the church so far or in the future for Mandichak will be passed on to Mandichak’s family, and the family will decide how to use it, Pastor James Leamon said.
The pastor said the decision against the creation of a fund for Mandichak did not stem from any criticism by individuals upset that the church was going to the defense of a man accused of murder.
“Officers of the church decided it would be simpler if people gave directly to the family rather than to a church fund,” Leamon said.
