No, seriously. My awesome friend Duckgirl is from Trenton. We hang out. She’s literate, it’s cool. Nobody thinks you’re all like that.
No, it hasn’t. I’m not sure her body went into the river. They left the stroller there, but her body may be somewhere else entirely. Uncle Chris and Doug may have thought that no body = no conviction and planted a red herring. Her body will turn up eventually, in the river or out of it.
I think Uncle Chris wasn’t the only one molesting the girls in that family, not gonna lie. The reason the dad is ignoring his missing, dead daughter and standing up for Uncle Chris is that they are cut from the same cloth. Minor teens don’t exploit their bodies to the public without a little previous experience being exploited. “Daddi” obviously liked the shots, since he knew about it and left it there. For all we know, he or Chris took them. EW.

CAMDEN — A judge yesterday increased bail from $750,000 to $1 million for a Maple Shade man charged with beating a teenage mother to death and dumping her body into Pennsauken Creek.
Douglas Mandichak, 25, of Linwood Avenue in Maple Shade is charged with murder in the death of Felicia Mikels, 17, of Pennsauken.
Superior Court Judge Thomas A. Brown Jr. increased Mandichak’s bail during a hearing yesterday morning. He cited the seriousness of the crime and the fact that Mandichak posed a flight risk and a danger to the community.
The victim’s uncle, Christopher Mikels, 26, of Pennsauken, is charged with being an accomplice to murder. The judge kept Mikels’ bail at $750,000. …
Mandichak was sentenced in March 2003 to 10 years in prison for arsons in Maple Shade, Pennsauken and Cherry Hill in 2001. He served three years and two months before being paroled, according to the state Department of Corrections.

Jan 23, 2008 at 4:03 pm -Well a big hallelujah on that one, but I beleive there was to be a hearing today to determine the placement of the baby. DYFYS has no reason to be placed with a father or grandmother that couldn’t protect Felicia to begin with.
For all we know, the father could have been molesting his daughter all along and the uncle decided to get his share. Who knows, maybe the her father is the father… Could it be possible that the baby has medical issues because of inbreeding?

I will address this in my letter to Ms. Coogan - a restriction may have to be lifted or she may actually have to look on her own time at home. A very small effort to save a very important child, that has already been dealt a very shitty hand in life.

Ms. Coogan:
Please, Please— try to advocate on behalf of the placement of this tiny baby! This case has touched many of us, nationally, and we cannot believe the horrible history of sexual abuse, incest, and general ignorance allowed within this family. This is the way these people have lived, and have allowed this baby to be brought into this situation. Only God knows who the father of this child is, or what physical and/ or mental problems await her due to the incestuous ways of, apparently, every single member of her family.
I am sure if you can access the affiliated MySpace pages, you will see the blatant ignorance and uneducated “gangsta” talk that everyone associated with her mother used. These people were not ethnic, but they chose to try and act this way for some reason. This is immature, irresponsible, and indicates that, if placed with any of the associated family members, this child will surely be in a situation that will send her down the same path.
I feel that most any “foster” situation she could be in would be safer than anywhere relatively close to where she was.

- underage nudity on the part of Felicia - who took those or allowed them to be up? Both parents have Myspaces with her on the friends list.
- clear boundary issues within the family that suggest sexual abuse (the father having the butt shots, etc.)
- the admitted sexual abuse within the home (Chris)
- the condition of the home in the pictures (no sheets on beds but plenty in doorways, filth, etc.)
- the concern that Felicia’s father is more interested in exonerating his brother than finding his child, and he lives in that house (denial of abuse, failure to protect.)
Those are the points that CPS is really going to care about.
