BELLEFONTE, Pa. - Police say a Centre County man sneaked into a woman’s house and raped her nearly 200 times over a 13-month period. The woman was too terrified to call police or tell her husband. Roy Chamberlin now faces more than 1,100 charges including multiple counts of rape, burglary, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, criminal trespass and terroristic threats. He was already in jail awaiting trial for unrelated attempted murder charges.

After therapy, the husband told police he now recalls arriving home about 9 a.m. one day in June. He said he heard his wife inside yelling “get off me,†“you’re hurting me†and “stop,†according to the complaint.

It is possible that the woman was really raped and just was too scared to not tell anybody. It is also highly possible that she is retarded. Well, I can see this woman being raped this much and simply too afraid to do anything about it. It’s not as if asking for help was going to get her any from her neighbors and family. No, your math is wrong again. She was raped 200 times over a 13 month period. That’s approximately 396 days. It works out to one time every other day or 3 to 4 times a week.
There can be more than one charge brought for each rape depending on the sex acts. Assault, sodomy, etc. That’s where the 1,100 charges come from.

of 1,100 charges filed against a man who state police say raped a woman
repeatedly over the course of 13 months.
Assistant District Attorney Lance Marshall said that while the District
Attorney’s Office agreed with police filing 1,100 counts against Roy
Chamberlin, 29, of 458 Manor Road, Centre Hall, the number of counts was
arrived at by police estimating the number of times the woman had been
raped. It is not realistic, Marshall said, to expect that prosecutors would
be able to meet the burden of proof required to convict Chamberlin of each
and every count.
After consultation with the victim and Chamberlin’s attorney, Charles
Kroboth, the District Attorney’s office withdrew the bulk of the charges,
leaving Chamberlin facing 50 counts of sexual assault, and one count each
of recklessly endangering, receiving stolen property and terroristic
threats.
Chamberlin waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges
