SIOUX CITY, Iowa – A Sioux City man has been charged with killing his two stepdaughters during a ritual at their home. Lawrence Harris is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his two step-daughters, Alysha Suing, 8, and Kendra Suing, 10. Firefighters responded to a fire at the home Sunday and encountered Harris who had blood on him and told them his two daughters were dead in their upstairs bedroom. They had been stabbed and strangled. Harris explained that he had been casting a spell that had gone bad and that the spell could have severe consequences. The girls’ mother was at work at the time.
Harris is being held in the Woodbury County Jail under $2 million bond. Harris is schedule to next appear in court on January 18th. I cannot tell what this guys angle is. He has to be setting up an insanity defense, right? The fire was minimal and just a bunch of clothes in the basement. I think it looks as an obvious attempt to cover up the crime. An attempt that just got stopped short. At that point, he adopted Plan B. The Crazy Plan.
