20080107234234xi8 Lawrence Harris Sucks At Witchcraft

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – A Sioux City man has been charged with killing his two stepdaughters during a ritual at their home. Lawrence Harris is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his two step-daughters, Alysha Suing, 8, and Kendra Suing, 10. Firefighters responded to a fire at the home SundaySunday reviewsSunday reviews and encountered Harris who had blood on him and told them his two daughters were dead in their upstairs bedroom. They had been stabbed and strangled. Harris explained that he had been casting a spell that had gone bad and that the spell could have severe consequences. The girls’ mother was at work at the time.

Harris is being held in the Woodbury County Jail under $2 million bond. Harris is schedule to next appear in court on January 18th. I cannot tell what this guys angle is. He has to be setting up an insanity defense, right? The fire was minimal and just a bunch of clothes in the basement. I think it looks as an obvious attempt to cover up the crime. An attempt that just got stopped short. At that point, he adopted Plan B. The Crazy Plan.

i read that mom’s name is Marla Harris. I think this is her myspace page. there are some very fuzzy wedding pics of her, “Larry”, Alysha, Kendra and Trinton. Looks like the mom and stepdad have not been married long.

Another step-dad/murderer that is much younger than his wife. She is 32, and he is 25. Not saying that it is always wrong, but I don’t know, if I were 32 and had 4 kids, I dont think I could get with a 25 year old.

There, you go, Morbid. You know the criminal mind. “They also said Harris may have tried to cover the up the crime by starting the fire.” (from the link provided by MG)

Here’s another “how did they get together” couple. She has FOUR kids, he is significantly younger, she works and he’s at home killing the kids. I don’t know how I would go on if I brought a man into my family and he killed my children.

I’m 32 my husband is 27, 28 in March. I don’t think age determines the sanity or intellect of an individual. To be honest had I known the age difference between my husband and myself (thought we were the same age) I probably would have thought twice *glad I didnt*

Wow that spell really backfired huh~WTF

Hey at least the Catholic church is thankful it wasn’t god giving the death orders now they can point fingers at the pagan community!

Miss. Hill — You’re right, of course. It’s just that there is so much emphasis in our culture on the woman being younger than the man that it seems strange when a younger man takes on four kids and a wife with an appreciable age difference. I’ve had men turn on their heel and walk away from me when they realize that I’m older than I look — it’s quite rude. I’m glad your story is different.

The lucky pagan community gets all the “credit” for events like this. It’s a shame. The neo-pagans I have known are nice people. I think Morbid is right about this guy: Plan One – burn the house and maybe the kids will go up too; Plan Two – insanity overtook me, but only for a few moments, now can I please go on parole?

And here’s me, going “wow, Tim Curry killed some kids under an assumed name?” He was skeery in “Ferngully” and all, but damn. You got to wise up, Janet Weiss/Marla Harris.

Sorry. I’m acting stupid because oh my god, the horror. I’m really wondering if a book called “Put Down The Penis And Walk Away” would sell, but then i realize that the women who really need it don’t read.

Oh, wait, my bad. They weren’t HIS kids. Of course, how silly of me. Honor killings are when you off your own children. When you strangle them, stab them, try to burn down the basement and tell the police it was an “oops” moment in a ritual gone horribly wrong, that’s Replacement Dick behavior.

There must be a way to put your book idea into the works. Perhaps make it a subliminal text to an exercise video or have it played in the operating room during breast implant surgery — or present it as the subtitles to a foreign porn movie!

Soundtrack line: “Oh, oh! Fait puttez le grande carrot insidez moi!”
Subtitle: Put the penis down and walk away!

An excellent idea, particularly the awesome subtitles :)

But i kind of think this would work better as a required video presentation prior to receiving WIC, food stamps, or Medicaid. I could be standing there on the screen, all “if your new man wants to enact satanic rituals on your children, PUT DOWN THE PENIS AND WALK AWAY.”

They could even have posters at the baby immunization clinics:
“Mommy’s new boyfriend wants Mommy to go to work and leave him alone with me. Mommy: PUT DOWN THE PENIS AND WALK AWAY.”

I swear that might work. We could even put subliminal messages on free Myspace backgrounds and in bottles of Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

Miss Hill, I feel you, I know that there is nothing wrong with an older woman with a younger man. But for whatever reason, a 32 year old woman with a 27 year old guy doesn’t strike me as strange at all. But a 32 year old with a 25 year old kind of does, especially that he all of a sudden became a stepfather of four children. I guess I’m just being biased, because I tend to think that most men 25 and under are completely immature. Especially to be stepparents all of a sudden. All situations are different of course, but very rarely do I see men this young that are responsible or mature enough to handle a situation like that

“Sioux City, Ia. — Two sisters in Sioux City who died in what police said was a ritualistic slaying belonged to the same church youth group as five children bludgeoned to death in 2001.”

It is in this link, check it out:

“The girls attended regularly, Gordon said, until a youth-group lecture highlighted “the evils of witchcraft, Ouija boards, voodoo, that kind of thing,” in November.

On the bus ride home from the youth center, Gordon said the girls “pelted” the bus driver with questions about the church’s issues with the practice.

“They didn’t come back after that,” Gordon said. “I asked the girls’ mother about that and she denied it. She said other girls were picking on them, so they left.”

“My gut feeling tells me both are true.”

Hmm, there seems to be more to this whole ritual shit thewn originally thought. I think the mom knows more than she is sayin

It does make one wonder what kind of abuse, ritualized or otherwise, these girls endured in the months leading up to their deaths. It doesn’t make sense that Replacement Dick would just one day up and try to channel Satan via stab wounds or whatever. And Marla may have been at least peripherally aware that there was something happening in that house. I mean, if the church people could figure it out…

I also noticed that the older boy sibling’s Myspace says “RIP my sisters”, and i feel so bad for that kid.

Oh sweet fancy Moses in a dump truck:

    http://www.kmeg14.com/Global/story.asp?S=7590677

Their stepdad told police the girls died because of a spell gone wrong.

“But in reality it was his hands who strangled them and it was his hands who cut them. So in my eyes, it was him,” Harris says.

Marla wants her husband to pay the consequences for ending their lives, even though she admits she still loves him.

“How can I not? I’ve loved him for the past two years. Love is not something you can get over in a day,” says Harris.

  29. impqueen

Oh wait, it gets even better:

    http://www.kmeg14.com/Global/story.asp?S=7590681&nav=menu609_2_3

The woman who lives in the home next door says her children often played with the girls. She called them a quiet family that mostly kept to themselves.

She made some interesting observations when firefighters pulled the girls from that second floor window.

“My daughter said the little one had a cut on her mouth,” said the neighbor. “They came outside with no clothes on. The second, the oldest, came out with only half clothes on. What were they in the bathtub or something? The main question is why were they like that in the middle of the day?”

The girls’ mother Marla tells KMEG 14 that her husband told her he was doing a spell for death and destruction to help Marla’s third child stay out of trouble. She says she respected her husband’s beliefs, but just asked that he not practice them in the house.

So what we have here, basically, is two Rowans.

  30. WryBread
    11:58 pm on January 8th, 2008

I can see why this family kept to itself. Is the mother insane? I would think that his having killed two of my children would make me get over my love for some guy and it wouldn’t take a whole day. I think it would take about a minute.

Who could believe that a spell for “death and destruction” would help a kid stay OUT of trouble? If that was what the spell was for, it seems to have worked well, despite what the husband told police.

How can children be protected from this crap when their own mother “respects her husband’s beliefs” and just asks that he not practice them in the house — she should have added, and don’t practice them on my children.

I think I’m going to puke.

here’s something that bugs me a lot about this case.

i’m gonna go ahead and give you 10:1 odds that these little girls were sexually assaulted over a period of time (weeks, months) leading up to the murders.

Believe me, y’all, i know from crazy self-styled satanists. And a big part of what most of them do is to enact spells and rituals via the removal of innocence of the object being used. In this “spell gone wrong”, it sounds like the “objects” in the RD’s mind were these two little girls.

That the girls were seen half dressed or naked outdoors during the day is pretty telling. (and why the HELL didn’t the neighbor hotline that?)

DIY culty types have a tendency to loosely embrace tenets of satanism based on the idea that through the destruction of innocence, they will become powerful. That’s one reason animal sacrifice is a big deal for some of these guys, and it’s usually a precursor to rape and murder. Dude knew damn well what he was doing, and he may have thought this murder would cover two bases: one ritualistic, the other to hide the fact that he was molesting the girls and one or both of them was gonna tell.

And if “the devil did it”, then his wife can’t hold him personally responsible and will still love him. Which, apparently, she does. Niiice. Even Colleen Spears was like “fuck that hoser, he’s guilty of something and I don’t want him” even before Rowan’s body was found.

I read a book by Manly P. Hall that talked about opening windows with magic that you can’t close and that is why you should not mess with white or black magic, I don’t know how true it is or not, but I know that I would not mess with shit like that. I’m not saying that this guy and his wife are not nutbars, but to her I think she thinks it is just a spell gone bad.

I’m going to be sick now, the poor girls and I am with Impqueen why the hell did the neighbors not call the police about the girls running around naked? No one ever wants to get involved.

Maybe I misunderstood the post on #29 – I understood the quote from imp to mean these were observations made while the firemen were removing the bodies. I missed where this was something she observed on a daily or once in a while – I thought “day of”.

The way the article is written it isn’t entirely clear. To me, it read that the woman’s daughter had seen the girls outside naked during the day at another time – especially since the neighbor didn’t mention all the blood. I doubt seriously that the police would have removed the dead children’s bodies without covering them.
