This particular ranking was created by simply taking our top 10 most viewed stories. This usually also equaled the top 10 most commented stories as well.

Number 10 - Israel Mireles

Emily Sanders,18, went missing after being last seen leaving the Retreat bar in El Dorado with Israel Mireles, 24. Investigators find signs of violence in Mireles hotel room that included blood on the bed and carpet. It is reported that Mireles was last seen leaving the area with his pregnant girlfriend, Victoria Martens, 16. Emily’s body was found by the roadside along U.S. 54 Highway between El Dorado and Toronto. Mireles was later found in Mexico and brought back to the US after the death penalty was removed from the table. Victoria Martens is also back in the US.

Why he deserves to be on the list:
Aside from already having a pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend, Mireles really didn’t do anything extremely out of the ordinary when it comes to people killing each other. What propelled this story above the usual missing-found-murdered story was that Emily’s secret lifestyle came to light. Emily was also known to some of us as Zoey Zane, an online model of the X-rated kind. The story soon turned from talking about her murder and the capture of Mireles, to her lifestyle and the locations of the slew of naked pictures she has on-line.

Number 9 - Jaileen Soliman

The number 9 spot is taken by Jaileen. This is the single mother of three who liked body painting in her spare time, as well as seeing just how much shit she could get in her house via as many different animals as possible. Birds, cats, pig, dog, human…Jaileen just didn’t care. Soliman was arrested on three charges of child neglect and her children were removed from the home and turned over to a family member. The children, ages 10, 7 and 1, were all living in a house strewn with human waste, trash, dirty clothing, and bugs. Several pets were running loose as well, including a pit bull, a pot-bellied pig, 8 cats and a bird. None of the school-aged kids are actually in school, as she is home schooling them, and she did not feed them breakfast, lunch or dinner. One of the children had bug bites all over their body. Nude photos of Jaileen also turned up fairly quickly, giving the story just that little bit of extra class. I still think she is probably a blast in the sack. Just make sure you wipe her down first.

Why she deserves to be on the list:
Come on, it just doesn’t get much trashier than this. Pig shit, stained mattresses, a 25-year-old with a 10-year-old, nude photos on-line? Jaileen won my heart with her name alone.

Number 8 - Alexander Letkemann and Jean Pierre Orlewicz

These geniuses decided that they wanted to experience killing someone. That someone turned out to be an semi-acquaintance named Daniel Sorenson. Letkemann and Orlewicz lured Sorenson to Orlewicz’s grandfather’s garage. A garage that had already been prepared with tarps and cleaning supplies. Orlewicz slit Sorensen’s neck with a kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed him in the back when Sorensen entered the garage. Orlewicz then retrieved a hack saw and proceeded to cut Sorensen’s head off. They then burned off Sorenson’s hands and feet with a blowtorch before dumping his body in a neighborhood, and his head in the river. Not surprisingly, they got caught. Letkemann ended up rolling over on Orlewicz, as did another friend who helped move the body. Both claiming that the entire plan was Olewicz and Letkemann stating that he was told that all he had to do was help clean up and he would be forgiven a monetary debt..

Why they deserve to be on the list:
As Sorensen slumped to his knees, dying from the slit in his throat, he asked, “Why?” Letkemann said Orlewicz answered, “I know, man. Just let it take over.” While it turns out that Soreson may not have been the best person walking on the planet, he didn’t deserve what he got, especially not at the hands of a sociopathic douchebag and his pussy, douchebag cohort.

Calvin Tillie was a douchebag in general. The fact that he kidnapped his girlfriend, her daughter and a friend at gunpoint and forced them to drive to a remote location was bad enough. But when the driver talked Tillie into letting them stop for gas, Tillie raised the bar even further. Suspicious that they were not at the gas station just for gas, and that the friend was alerting authorities inside the store, Tillie began shooting his ex-girlfriend. It was at this point that her daughter, Alexis Goggins, 7, got between Tillie and her mother in order to protect her, begging Tillie to stop. Not letting something like a begging child get in the way of his plans, Tillie then shot the little girl 6 times. Unbelievably, the mother and the daughter survived although Alexis is still undergoing operations and has lost her right eye.

Why he deserves to be on the list:
He may not have killed anyone, but it wasn’t for lack of trying. The fact that he was able to empty a gun into a child, without hesitation, is a true testament to the level of douchbaggery Calvin is able to reach.

Number 6 - Christopher Richardson

This guy is accused of doing something so heinous that it is about as stomach-churning of a story I had read in a while. Christopher is accused of using his finger to sexually assault his 9-day-old daughter. That was not a typo. Nine.Days.Old. The infant was taken to the hospital when the mother saw that it was bleeding from it’s mouth and nose. Doctors found more injuries in the form of bruises, head injuries as well as injuries to her genitalia and rectum. The infant died from massive internal bleeding and sepsis. Christopher vehemently denies he did this, but the child’s mother as well as Christopher’s own mother, believe otherwise. Christopher was charged felony murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree child abuse.

Why he deserves to be on the list:
No explanation needed, really, as the guy fingered his 9-day-old daughter to death. The injuries to her rectum were so bad, that is what she ultimately died from. To top things off, he beat the mother as they were on the way to the hospital.

Ashly is the 22-year-old Hooter’s waitress who was so into her work, she forgot that she had left her 17-month-old infant in her SUV parked right outside of her workplace. Temperature inside the vehicle reached upwards of 110 degrees and the baby died a slow, horrible death. Sure, we get these morons who leave their kids in the car all the time, but this story hinted at what some people automatically assume about parents who do this. The possibility of someone doing this completely on purpose. Family and friends stated that Ashly was far more concerned with her freedom than being weighted down with the responsibilities of a newborn. Also, in the 911 recordings that were released recently, she states that she does not now why she did this. Not how, but why.

Let’s say she is a full-blown retard and forgot her kid is in the car. She may not have ranked up as high as she does now, but she would still be a douchebag. The fact that it sounds a little like she did this on purpose in an attempt to get rid of a problem just helps push her up a couple spots.

Kelsey Peterson takes the fifth spot. She is the teacher who got involved with a 13-year-old student. Things got worse when their semi-open relationship finally made its way to school administrators. On the day she was to be called in to discuss the recent events that had come to light, Kelsey and the young boy took off to Mexico. Eventually, she was captured and brought back to the states to face charges such as taking a minor across state lines to have sex. In a recent development, Kelsey blamed the boy, stating that she had been afraid of him. She stated that it was his idea to go to Mexico and that he was physically abusive to her. My guess is that instead of “physically abusive to her” actually meant, dumb enough to slip his penis into some portion of her grotesque, bloated mass.

Why she deserves to be on the list:
Well aside from being a pedophile, this woman abandoned friends and family in order to have some type of fantasy relationship with an illegal immigrant. Oh yeah, she has a daughter as well. An 7-year-old daughter who she had no issues leaving behind for the call-of-the-cock. The recent development of her attempting to blame the boy, even though it would be hard pressed to say he was manipulated in any way, just has her nasty-ass sinking even lower on the moral scale while rising higher on this list

In one of the more popular stories of the year, a story that the media latched on to as well as the public, started with the discovery a little girl’s body found in the Galveston Bay. The girls had been stuffed into a storage container and dumbed into the water. For a while, her identity was unknown. She was given the name of Baby Grace. The case remained unsolved until a forensic artist created a (somewhat creepy) sketch of Baby Grace using the corpse as a model. This sketch was released to the media and eventually, Baby Grace became Riley Sawyers. Her mother had taken her out of state, without the father’s knowledge, to move in with and marry Royce Zeigler, a man she met playing World of Warcraft. During a discipline session with the child, discipline that included holding Riley’s head underwater and beating her with belts, it is alleged Royce threw Riley and she hit her head and died. This couple then stuffed her into a plastic container and hid her for 3 months until finally dumping her into the water. They are both currently in jail awaiting trial.

Why they deserve to be on the list:
This woman displayed more levels of fail than just about anyone else on the list so far. The display of wanton selfishness in every single one of her actions is almost mind-boggling. Not one decision this woman made after the birth of Riley had anything but herself in mind. Decisions that led to Riley being taken from the family that loved her and into the hands of the man who killed her. To top things off, she actually helped kill the girl, even if it wasn’t either of their intentions, and then was cold-hearted enough to throw her out like a bag of trash.

Number 2 - Everyone involved with Megan Meiers

This story got talked about so much I almost puke typing this. Megan Meiers was a disturbed teen-age girl who developed a crush on a boy via Myspace. One morning, the boy started being mean to hear with some unkind messages and postings. Upset, Megan began firing back with some mean messages of her own. When her mother came home and seen what was going on, she yelled at Megan as well. Megan then went upstairs to her room and promptly hung herself. Up to this point, the story is a nice warning to parents who allow their mentally disturbed teenagers to use Myspace. A good example of not trusting people online as well as why Myspace has an age limit you must agree to before using their service.

But the story took a hard left when the Meiers found that the boy she had a crush on, the boy that sent the mean messages, was actually a group of people allegedly created by a neighbor and acquaintance of the family, year-old Lori Drew. Lori’s daughter and Megan had been on-again, off-again friends who were currently off. Lori had the profile created with the help of an 18-year-old for the sole purpose of befriending Megan to see if she talked any shit about her daughter. This account was then given out to a few more people including the girl who sent the mean message on the day of Megan’s suicide. The media picked up on the story (after bloggers such as myself had already posted it after reading an article in the St. Charles Journal) and what a shit-storm commenced. Mostly against Lori Drew. The internet public took up their pitchforks and torches and symbolically burned Lori alive at the stake. No charges were ever filed against Lori as she didn’t do anything illegal, but she is paying for her role 1000 fold as the her immediate community, as well as the rest of the world, is actively shunning her and ironically, harassing her.

Why everyone involved deserves to be on the list:
Lori was just one cog in the equation that equaled Megan’s decision to hang herself in her closet. I still refuse to lay the blame solely on Lori. Sure, her actions were immature and cold, but there were may other characters in this tragic play. From the young people who knew of the fake account and used it, to the parents of Megan herself. Her mother allowed Megan on Myspace and actively monitored it. This after Megan had been restricted from using Myspace earlier for posing as someone she wasn’t in order to talk to boys. The fact that she was on ant-depressants and stated she wanted to kill herself in the 3rd grade just add to certain scenario variables that the mother should have taken into consideration before allowing her daughter to start “dating” a boy online whom no one had even met. This was not any type of continual online harassment or bullying, this was some mean messages sent to Megan, who returned her own, in a morning. This on top of the fact that she got chastised by her mother after it happened. She was a mentally damaged young lady who found that the only way to deal with peer issues was to hang herself. Lastly, I blame the sheep. The bleating, following mass of morons who seem so willing to jump on a cause without knowing any of the facts pr any of the people involved. They are the despicable people who run in from a gathering crowd to anonymously kick someone who is already being attacked or who stood around yelling obscenities at a woman being burned alive for being a witch. It is sickening to me and I hope one day, you all follow the leader over the edge of a very high cliff.

Number 1 - Chris Collings and David Spears

No surprise to the readers of my site. This case was one hell of a gut punch. What started with a simple missing child article ended up being one of the most heinous crimes we reported on this year. Rowan Ford, 9, went missing from her home. The mother was working that night and she was being watched by her step-father David Spears. After the investigation finds that David had left the house for a number of hours, without telling investigators where he had been, suspicions fell squarely on him. Everyone was just pretty much waiting for him to be charged with something. When Rowan’s naked body was found in a cave, the story snowballed into a nightmare that was just hard to imagine. Hard to imagine what Rowan went through before her death as well as being hard to imagine that humans are capable of doing certain things to children. It turns out that David Spears was involved with Rowan’s disappearance and death as well as family friend Christopher Collings. Christopher removed Rowan out of her bed and then took her to his trailer where he began raping her. David Spears then arrived at the trailer and witnessed Christopher raping Rowan. Instead of helping her, David the raped her too. They then strangled her and dumped her body into a cave. This story got extremely popular here after the site was featured on a local news station and when one of Rowan’s sisters actively participated in the on going discussions.

Why they deserve to be on the list:
Other details of the crimes these two douchebags committed against Rowan are still rumor and will not be repeated in this list, but even if we stick with just the facts that they gang-banged a 9-year-old girl before killing her they would still probably take the top spot. This story hit a lot of people pretty hard, especially when details of Rowan’s home life came to light. Stories of neglect and lice, of Rowan showing up at church early every Sunday. Details of people trying to get authorities involved or not becoming involved at all. She seemed like a poor girl dealing with a situation at home that kids shouldn’t ever have to deal with. But instead of things getting better for her, God seemed to want Rowan to not only suffer while living but also give her a nice, fat sucker punch by making her the recipient of one long, tortuous death at the hands of two animals.

So that’s it. The Top 10 Douchebags featured on our site for the year of our Lord, 2007. Maybe next year the top 10 spots will be filled with handicap parking violators and litterbugs, but somehow I sincerely doubt it. These assholes seem to breed like rabbits. Until this same time next year, I hope you can remain decent enough to never be featured on next years list, and lucky enough to not become the victim of someone who does.
