20071226155142aw1 Multiple People Found Dead In Home; 2 Arrested

Carnation, Wash - Six people have been found dead in a home on Wednesday. In all, deputies found Wayne Scott Anderson, 60, a Boeing engineer, and postal worker Judy Anderson, 61, at whose home the shootings occurred; Scott Anderson, Michele’s brother; his wife, Erica; and their two children, 6-year-old Olivia and 3-year-old Nathan. They suffered traumatic injuries. The house is isolated in a rural area. A friend of the family discovered the bodies around 8 a.m. and then called 911. He had went to the house when one of theoccupants did not show up for work. Police say the occupants may have been dead since Christmas Eve.

I’ll update this as more information becomes available, but it is being reported that the authorities have ruled out murder-suicide and yet announced that there was no threat to the community.

Update:

Police have arrested a man and woman in connection with the deaths of six people. Deputies arrested Joseph Thomas McEnroe and Michele Kristen Anderson, both 29. Michele is the daughter of Wayne and Judy. Relatives state she lived in  a trailer on the property. Three generations of a family, to be specific. “This couple was among the people that showed up at the [crime] scene,” King County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart said. “And as we got to talking to them, we developed probable cause and made the arrests.” The couple is expected to be charged with six counts of first-degree homicide, he said.

Michele Anderson is now requesting the death penalty. She certainly deserves it.

Even if she was upset with the parents and brother - how does that lead you to decide "if something doesn't give, I'll kill'em all" shit? How could she kill her niece and nephew? No matter what the adult conflicts were over, how could she "plan"to kill those kids or allow the freak to kill them?

However, it seems, so far, that he is more remorseful than she is. Maybe she was leading him by the hand - for the money - instead of an outsider trying to get the family goods. It was her family, she probably planned the whole thing. She had the issues.
  • Shiver is right!
"she claimed her father hit her and her mother was mean and didn’t understand her" Poor poor baby. Whatever!

    She does! *shiver*

Seems like her and her brother Scott were building a business together called Pure Evil Customs. Also she told other people that she was abused as a child "Back then, she spoke of a volatile relationship with her parents — she claimed her father hit her and her mother was mean and didn't understand her, Chandler said. But Anderson spoke lovingly of her older brother, Scott, who is now among the slain, Chandler said.

"Scott was the only person she really trusted because they went through their abusive childhood together," Chandler said."

Quote Lisafer "Yep she is disabled. I bet she even gets disability because of mental or chemical issues."

Now hey, coming from a nurse and someone with personal experience...just because someone may be on disability for mental or chemical maladies, doesn't mean they're gonna go out an kill someone. There are many individuals with mental complications, sometimes becoming so taxing that they are not able to function at their jobs....again, some are decent folks who's life took too much of a toll on them, and they are not crazed maniacal peeps. :)
    Peace

Haha, impqueen, they're GOBLINS!! An imp would know!
Yeah, he's got that vampire/werewolf confusion. That's what happens when you stay fucked up and stay in the house and watch too many movies and play too many -dare I say- DRINKIN games with your crazy-assed, depressed, demanding, twisted girlfriend. I bet they have an excellent movie and game selection.
They're probably into anything "dark" because it makes them "special".
But why are the both of them so fucking greedy?
Yeah, I think this was one of those one-in-a-million meetings, like Bonnie and Clyde, or Karla and Paul.

Hey, it’s a generalization. So sue me. Here’s some more:
I’ve had bad luck with Michelles (and so have the victims in the article). Debbys and Pattys tend to be ate the fuck up, as do Tims and Marks. Michelles tend to be fun to ride, just don’t make the mistake of marrying them, and layer up with 3 condoms when you ride them.

    Jaileens tend to be filthy.

    Your experience may vary.

apparently there was no lock when Judy’s co worker came to check why she didn’t show up at work ?

My guess is that the two geniuses left the gate unlocked when they left the house. Or, the concerned friend walked over/around the locked gate.

I suspect that the commonality of the name and its attendant variations just means that you get a bunch of slags purely by percentage. Which is why my parents named me Imp.

Sgt. Jim Laing says the bodies were discovered in the home about 8 a.m. by a co-worker of Judy Anderson, who worked at a post office. The co-worker went to the home when the usually reliable postal employee failed to show up for work. The co-worker immediately called police, who arrived at the scene shortly.

No shit. Dumb fucks. Looks like they didn't have to do "this" after all. They could have left the mother and children, since their moron asses got hemmed up anyway. I wonder if this will be a public trial. I'm tempted to drive to Carnation just to sling slurs and curses their direction.

It amazes me, the shit money issues can provoke. I've had people steal from me, fail to pay back loans, etc...It's never motivated me to shoot little kids (or anyone, for that matter).

See, you retarded parents who spoil and over-indulge your children??? This is what it gets you...a fucking bullet in the head! With any luck, it'll be JUST your head, and not the heads of future generations along with you.
  • The 3-year-old holding the batteries is some cold shit. Now some of the gaps are filled, especially concerning the 911 call and why investigators stated that the person who made the call was one of the last adults killed. Man, that is some chilling reading. It was almost like Natural Born Killers or something.
  • Court documents said McEnroe, a store clerk, and Anderson, who is unemployed, told detectives they armed themselves on Christmas Eve and went to her parent's home from the trailer where they lived on the parents' rural property.

Michele Anderson told detectives her brother, a carpenter, owed her money she had loaned to him years earlier, and that she was upset with her parents because they did not take her side. Additionally, she said her parents were pressuring her to start paying rent for staying on their property.

"Michelle stated that she was tired of everybody stepping on her," the court papers say. "She stated that she was upset with her parents and her brother and that if the problems did not get resolved on Dec. 24, then her intent was definitely to kill everybody."

After arming themselves, they went to her parents house with the guns concealed. Wayne Anderson, 60, was in the living room and Judy Anderson, 61, was in a back room wrapping presents.

Michele Anderson fired once at her father's head but missed. McEnroe stepped in, leveled his gun and fatally shot Wayne Anderson in the head.

Judy Anderson heard the shots and ran from the back room where she had been wrapping gifts. She was shot by McEnroe, who apologized to her before shooting her again, this time in the head.

During the next 30 to 45 minutes, the two dragged the bodies to a shed behind the house, used towels and carpets to sop up blood stains and awaited the arrival of the dead couple's son, Scott, his wife, Erica -- both 32 -- and their 3-year-old son, Nathan, and 6-year-old daughter, Olivia, for a Christmas Eve visit.

Her brother and sister-in-law put up a brave struggle, according to the documents.

"Michele told detectives that Scott charged her when she pulled out the gun and that she shot him at least twice and maybe as many as four times."

Michele then shot Erica Anderson twice, but she was able to crawl over the back of a couch to call 911. McEnroe told detectives he tore the phone from Erica's hands and destroyed it.

Huddling with her children, Erica Anderson pleaded with McEnroe not to shoot her, saying: "You don't have to do this."

McEnroe told her: "Yes, we do,"' and shot her in the head, according to the affidavit.

He then shot 6-year-old Olivia before turning to 3-year-old Nathan, who had picked up the batteries from the cordless phone his mother had used in her futile attempt to call for help.

"McEnroe told detectives that Nathan held the batteries up in one hand and gave '..the look of complete comprehension ... as if he understood." McEnroe than fired on last bullet through Nathan's head, according to the affidavit.

When asked why he shot Erica, Olivia and Nathan, McEnroe told detectives three times: "I didn't want them to turn us in," according to the affidavit.

Michele Anderson told investigators "it was a combination of not wanting them to have to live with the memories and not wanting there to be any witnesses."
  • colomom
The latest reports indicate that the POS boyfriend sat the children down and apologized to them about what he was about to do. This after the kids witnessed the shooting of their parents. He then proceeded to shoot each of them in the head. There is a report that the POS daughter was worshipping satan. Apparently they took off after the killings headed for Canada but turned around and came back, arriving at the scene and acting as if they knew nothing about it.

Charges filed, DA considering death penalty!

SEATTLE - A woman and her boyfriend were charged Friday with aggravated first-degree murder in the methodical Christmas Eve shooting shootings of her parents, her brother, his wife and their two young children.
Michele K. Anderson and Joseph Thomas McEnroe, both 29, confessed to detectives they had shot six members of Anderson's family, according to court documents. Anderson said both of them shot her parents, brother and sister-in-law, while McEnroe killed the children, according to a separate affidavit.
King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg, who will decide whether to seek the death penalty, said the motive for the slayings may never be known.
  • Athena
Oh, sure. I mean, there's not much the officers could have done, in this situation. I can't imagine, anyway. A non-priority call/hang-up combined with a locked gate? This is simply unfortunate circumstance, not at all the fault of police, in my opinion.

As for the 911 caller, this is why I highly recommend high-stress shooting training. I'm enrolling in a class this spring (their classes are booked months in advance). Not only do they teach you how to maintain accurate shooting under the most stressful conditions, but they also teach you how to remain level-headed AFTER the incident so that you can clearly and intelligently communicate with police. That's the thing - the police can't help much if they don't know who you are and what's going on.

    Oh...And CCLs all around. :p
  • Really? Interesting. Even after the 911 operator reported that the call sounded more like a party than a disturbance?

The full quote was "Heard a lot of yelling in the background ... sounded more like party noise than angry heated arguing."

So, if the officers were given that info as well, then it is even more understandable why they may not have been so gung-ho to go past the locked gate. The spokeperson told the press that the 911 caller was probably the last adult killed. I am sure things will become clearer once they finish processing everything.
  • Athena
But no matter in this instance, as investigators are saying that the 911 caller was probably the last one killed out of the six.

Really? Interesting. Even after the 911 operator reported that the call sounded more like a party than a disturbance?
  • While police are normally required to make a "reasonable effort" to discover the circumstances behind a 911 hangup, unless public outcry influences anything, the cops may not be held liable for the actions (or inactions).

First, if there were more pressing calls for the officers, they would have attended those instead. Second, the Supreme Court affirmed a lower court's ruling that no "special relationship" existed with the 911 caller unless a dispatcher had made personal communication with the caller and gave some sort of assurance that help would arrive. Obviously, this did not happen.

It just enforces parents to keep cell phones away from kids and to make sure they realize the consequences of pranking 911. They get so many calls that are false, that they cannot be expected to investigate every single 911 hang up call. In a perfect world, maybe, but in the real one?

But no matter in this instance, as investigators are saying that the 911 caller was probably the last one killed out of the six.
  • bexter
yeah, i would figure that a locked gate would be able to be broken since there was a 911 call. Bet there is a suit charged against the cops pretty soon.
  • thepooh5
Hippie -- blockquote>I still do not understand why the police left because of the gate. I thought if a 911 call was made, it was the duty of the police officer to make sure that there is no problem. A gate locked would have made me all the more suspicious.

That is exactly why we are too SMART to be cops...................

WTH were they thinking when they left?
  • Hippiepoet
I still do not understand why the police left because of the gate. I thought if a 911 call was made, it was the duty of the police officer to make sure that there is no problem. A gate locked would have made me all the more suspicious.
  • I guess that family is blaming the police for not checking the house after the 911 call. If they would have than maybe they could have saved the son and his family because they did not show up until after the parents were killed, but if the gate was locked than I would bet that all 6 of them were already dead. I would say the daughter and her boyfriend killed her mom and dad and than her brother showed up tried to call 911, the boy friend killed him and his family and than he went out and locked the gate, so that no one else would show up.

This girl and her boyfriend are really sick fucks, how do you shoot a 3 and 6 year old?
  • Hippiepoet
Man. This one really is a gut-punch of a story. How that man was able to turn and shoot a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old in the head on Christmas Eve no less, is just amazingly sick.

    Well said, man....well said.

such a tragedy especially for those two kids. So basically from what I read they killed the parents and when the other 4 arrived killed them for being "witnesses". WTF, thats just crazy. This just makes no sense to me at all.

This one is frightening and saddening me too. I’ve been in situations in my life where but for the grace of *god* a crime of passion, for lack of a better term, could have easily happened.
    With my parents, most notably.
So I can almost understand such a thing.
But to go over there, armed and loaded, with the inTENtion of murdering your entire family!!!
Was this woman developmentally disabled, or as we used to say “retarded”?? Maybe that’s why she had to sponge off her wealthy parents, couldn’t support herself on retarded wages?
Without even a CHILD to hold her back, and she goes and blows off EVERY opportunity to be somebody, then kills the only people who ever tried to love her??
Yep she is disabled. I bet she even gets disability because of mental or chemical issues.
Even if it is proven later that the father raped her while her mother watched, or something equally horrid (which I doubt) this bitch should still FRY!!!
Such cold calculated killers do not belong here.

Or at least, find them and draft them to be soldiers in the upcoming World War.

Wow, this story is really fucked up. quote from AOL, of all places:

Ben Anderson, who said he was the grandson of Wayne and Judy Anderson, told reporters outside his grandparents' property late Wednesday that money could have been a factor in the deaths.

"She felt she wasn't loved enough and everyone didn't appreciate her and she was pushed out of everyone's life," he said, referring to Michele Anderson.
  • impqueen
AOHell news is reporting that the suspects are Michele Anderson, 29, and Joseph McEnroe, 29. The victims are listed as Wayne Anderson, 60 and Judy Anderson, 61; and their son Scott; his wife, Erica; and their two children, Olivia, 6 and Nathan, 3.

Nichele Anderson is Wayne and Judy's daughter who lives in a trailer on the property with McEnroe, her boyfriend. Niiice.

You know those two kids were so excited for Santa to come that night, (depending on religion, of course), then to have the unexplainable happen. I couldn't believe this story when I first heard it. It's bad enough when it's adults, but kids - on Christmas Eve? It's mind boggling.
  • I found this on MSN.

Some one called 911 when all this was happening, but the police stopped at a locked gate, maybe if they would have cut the lock or something they might have been able to save some of these people. This story really sucks!

A call to 911 was made from the house in the early evening on Christmas Eve, but the call broke off after about 10 seconds, Urquhart said. The operator reporting hearing "a lot of yelling in the background ... sounded more like party noise than angry heated arguing."

But when deputies arrived at the scene, they stopped at a locked gate.

"They didn't go past it," Urquhart said. "I don't know why yet. That's one of the things we're looking into."
  • solange822001
I read on one news site that a cousin of the daughter (the suspect) says that she has been fighting with her parents since she was 13, and felt that they didnt show her enough l0ve or something. I think he said it had to do with money, and then he goes on to say that they let her live on the property rent free and they were just trying to help her. I guess that wasnt enough for her!
  • Wow. To be able to shoot your family, including a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old...on Christmas Eve...that's some cold-blooded shit right there. I cannot wait to get the pictures of the arrested pair.
  • WryBread
    http://www.king5.com/topstories/stories/NW_1226...

This article says that one of the two persons arrested was a daughter of the dead older couple. No more explanation was given.

    Christmas mayhem. How sad.
  • According to public records, the property is owned by Wayne Anderson, 60, and Judy Anderson, 61.

Mark Bennett, who identified himself as a family friend, said Wayne Anderson was a Boeing Co. engineer and Judy Anderson worked for the Post Office in Carnation.

Bennett said he spoke with the couple on Christmas Eve and tried to call them Christmas Day but could not reach them. He told reporters he came to the property Wednesday morning after seeing the home on television news.

"I didn't want to believe what I heard and saw," he said, "so I drove over."

Bennett said the Andersons have three children. One daughter, Michelle, lives on the property in a mobile home, he said.
  • bexter
wow that is unbelievable!! What a tragedy.
  • Well damn. This one is moving along pretty quick. No motive yet.
