Sheila Sikat and husband, David Wang
California – She has been convicted of repeatedly molesting a 4-year-old girl with her husband. Sikat was found guilty of 55 charges, including six counts of penetration with a foreign object of a minor under 14 years old, 13 counts of lewd acts upon a child, 10 counts of oral copulation, five counts of using a minor for sex acts and one count of sodomy. The victim was a daughter of a relative who they would babysit. They got busted when a housecleaner found a stash of 212 videotapes of young girls being molested, four of them depicting the couple sexually abusing the 4-year-old little girl. The couple molested the 4-year-old five times at their home in early 2001, producing nearly four hours of footage that was also viewed by the jury.
The tapes also showed her husband, David S. Hwang, 36, molesting girls, sometimes with Sikat, or, in earlier years, with a former girlfriend. Hwang was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison after he pleaded guilty in OctoberOctober reviews
2006 to 60 counts of child molestation and faces more charges in Texas.

Okay, that settles it, no babysitter for my son!! My son has never stayed with anyone other than my Mother or his daycare and I was considering finding someone to do some weekend babysitting but now I won’t.
Such sickos! I’m thinking they thought they would make money off the videos from other sick fuckers.
Why why why do folks think that this is okay? It seems that some folks believe that kids might enjoy this or that they are ready – I really always wonder how pedofiles are raised. Rosie I am soooooo sorry that you have to worry so much about proper childcare. You should be able to hold a job and trust your child is safe at a sitters. I suggest refferences and that there are other kids of speaking ages there at the same time and your premitted to pop in without phone calls etc. there are list if you call the (if you live in a large enough city) they have certified daycare providers get the info you can and interview them maybe 2-3 times and watch them interact with kids they currently watch. Do some research too on how to find a child care provider.
I had very good childcare providers, my kids 17 and 24 remember them too they were special part of their life.
Now I have to say I did have one experience. I came to pick up my son at normal time and the county worker had stopped by for a surprise visit and found my child care provider not there. so she waited around. Still there when I arrived to pick up my son. One of the after school kids came. The childcare worker’s daughter and son was home One in elementary school the other high school. Shortly after I got there she came driving up. She had my child with her. I went home. That night about 4 hours later I got a call from the worker That my child could not return back to her house. Well it was stressful as I had to work next day. everyday M-F
All they would do is give me names of other certified providers. They were not really that concerned with my situation or my emotions. outside of having to go thru the process find a new caregiver it was totally my responsibility.

Wonder, that is horrible that that happened. It is such a widespread issue nowadays, finding safe and adequate care for your kids while you work. Thank god I have my mom, otherwise I dont know what I would do.

After posting bail, Sheila Sikat telephoned a woman in Laredo, Texas, and told her that the Orange County Sheriff’s Department had confiscated the videotapes and “it would probably be a better idea if she fled to Mexico,” sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
After learning about the warning, the Sheriff’s Department notified Laredo police, who last week arrested Nora Contreras, 29. She faces a charge of indecency with a child.
Sikat was returned to jail with bail set at $500,000.

That’s what I want to know. I have a 7 year old son, and although he is never in the care of anyone other than my parents, do you all think I should talk to him about molestation? And if so, how? It really is never too early.
My parents often treated me like a little adult, mostly because I acted like one, but whatever. They spoke to me in a very straightforward manner. No sugar coating, no bullshit. Anyway, they had that talk with me as soon as I was old enough to understand English. When I was three, it ended up coming in handy. I had a rather indecent run in with the neighbor’s son who was older than me. That night, when I came home, I told my mom exactly what had happened. Had they have never had that talk with me, they may have never known.

“Prison is an appropriate punishment, a Southern California woman told the judge sentencing her for helping her boyfriend videotape sexual assaults on her 4-year-old niece, MyFOXLA.com reports.
The woman, Sheila Sikat, 28, of Rancho Santa Margarita, appeared before the judge Friday facing up to 109 years in prison in the case.
MyFOXLA.com reports Sikat’s sister and mother asked for leniency, but Sikat asked for punishment.
“I’m at complete fault,” she said. “And I do deserve to go to prison because I failed to protect my niece.”
Sikat’s boyfriend, David Shoutyh Hwang, 36, pleaded guilty in 2006 and was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. He testified that he gave Sikat drugs to make her go along with the molestation.
Orange County Superior Court Judge Gary Paer is scheduled to sentence Sikat on March 6.”

Two brief comments. I think it is more worrying than people imagine about finding and being sure of reliable childminders. In the UK there has been a great deal of fuss about nurseries and other child-care. (A recent BBC programme — Panorama on Monday third of March — for example came up with several disturbing undercover surveys.) A social worker I know has given up work so that she doesn’t have to leave a child with a carer, because of her experience investigating child abuse.
Somebody noted there is a belief that Asian women are submissive. That is not my experience — when I lived in Hong Kong, for example, it was the women who ruled. When women are financially dependent they appear submissive, but in a high-income country like Hong Kong (Singapore, Taiwan, etc.) where the women can support themselves they don’t bother with this appearance. It seems that even Western woman when they are financially dependent try to appear submissive. The moral of the story — don’t go looking for a nation wife thinking there will be so servile after they marry!
