Well, kind of a slow news day today, but the media has been reporting the incident in which 18-year-old Andrew Culver sent an email to Peter Gilmore, the high priest of the New York City-based Church of Satan. In the email, Andrew states that he has access to an arsenal of weapons and said he wanted to kill his grandparent “in the name of our unholy lord Satan“.

Andrew found out that Satanists are not what he thought they were when Peter forwarded the email to the FBI which notified local police. Culver was taken out of class Thursday and questioned by police. He said it was all a joke, but Peter commented that in light of all the recent shootings, instead of discarding the email like they normally do, he wanted to play this one safe. Andrew is currently in the Trumbull County Juvenile Detention Center.

Thank goodness this guy called, or Culver’s grandparent/grandparents may have been killed. Doesn’t matter to me what Peter Gilmore worships.

Peter Gilmore doesn’t worship anything. Church of Satan does not believe in God or Satan.

Well Morbid, what I’m referring to as in Worship…as the devotion to something, a love a commitment. I believe it would be correct to say, Mr. Gilmore was devoted in his beliefs to The Church of Satan. I wasn’t trying to be a smart ass. Just saying whether he’s christian, Jewish, Buddhist or a Satanist…at least he had to the smarts to call someone.
    Peace.
And as for the Church of Satan not to believe in Satan, well from what I’ve read, they seem to think Satan, represents quite a lot, ya know better than that Jesus guy.

Is there some rule that in order to belong to the Church of Satan, you must have the eyebrows of a Vulcan?

It’s rule number 14. Besides, the Church of Satan is based on theatrics. He is a perfect spokesperson. :)

well, at least someone used common sense in attepting to prevent something for once rather than be interviewed the day after a massacre saying “they knew something was wrong but never thought THIs WOULD HAPPEN….”

well i am andrew culver and i think it is wrong for the press to blow this up like this i am a responsible young man who just man a bad mistake i have a dumb ass 18 year old sense of humor i understand that in this day and age this kind of thing shouldn’t be joked about but should all be punished because of a few crazy people? i don’t think so the whole point of the e-mail was just to get a response out of a satanist church i thought was evil i believe in God and i am a Christian i wouldn’t even hurt an animal let alone my own family. and to answer you question poster my shot in the army is not blow i am in the army now and already been through basic and i am staying to serve my country in its time of need something most of you cowards would never do. i am truly sorry for the people i offended with my e-mail but anyone who knows me knows it was just a dumb joke that well no one thought was funny. all the charges were reduced and i received disorderly conduct. i still live with my grandparents and i love them with all my heart. My grandfather is the dad i never had i would never ever like to see anything bad happen to any of my family. i think people need to focus more on the real crimes and poverty in this country! God bless America

Once again, you are not thinking before you type young Mr. Culver. You have just gotten out of basic. You have not “really” served yet. Many here have and some have already lost family in the latest conflict. Think. Think. think.

Oh yeah, punctuation. Get you some.

Andrew, I am glad that the Army did decide to go ahead and take you. You are lucky that they did so, I know for a fact that other military services would not have. (Also, you do not know anything about the posters here, as far as you know we are all military.)
I hope that basic taught you to keep your mouth shut, especially during your 18 month tour to Iraq. Please do not embarrass your coutry by saying something you think is a joke and have the media get ahold of it again. You are a soldier now, you represent this country, and you need to act like one.

keep in mind that even while you post here, you are posting as a soldier and are representing the Army. Be careful what you say.
