PhoenixPhoenix reviewsPhoenix reviews A strip club surveillance camera captured a white sedan pulling up to the back of a business and leave two toddlers by a trash bin. One of the toddlers was only wearing a t-shirt and a diaper. The girl is believed to be about 9 months old and the boy is about a year-and-a-half old. They were discovered by a garbage collector about 5:30 a.m. The children are in good shape and have been turned over to state Child Protective Services. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Phoenix police at 602-262-5151.

I wouldn’t want to be the parents of the boy on the left. He looks a bit pissed. Thanks for the heads up, Tricia.

Update:

Police have located the mother but are not releasing her identity. The strip club did say that she was not an employee and never has been.

Yeah, the boy does look kind of pissed off. Like “I don’t guess I’m going to get that pony for Christmas, either. Goddamnit.”

Awfully cold of the parent(s) to leave the kids out by the trash, but at least they didn’t beat, torture or starve them to death, I’ll give them that much.

You’re right, dammit, at least they’re ok. But sheesh, couldn’t you at least pick a dumpster by a hospital or police precinct? Why out back of a strip club? Put ‘em somewhere someone will find them and take care of them instead of possibly putting them in greater danger.

Oh, well, at least they’re ok. And young enough that they will have no memory of it whatsoever. Let’s hope they find a loving home together.

while I dont condone the parents actions at least they didnt kill the kids because they wernt wanted maybe the parent or whom ever left them there couldnt take care of them and hope a better person would find them they way they went about it was wrong but at least the children are safe now

Look at the eyelashes on that little girl! Those are some adorable kids. And lucky, too. I mean, not TOO lucky, or they wouldn’t have been abandoned to begin with…But they’re alive and well. It could have been so much worse.

Probably high, drug-addict parents. I mean, why else pick a strip club as a destination for these tikes?

A sort of happy ending. Yeah, bravo for the parents or parent that let their child be taken in by good folks (strip club may be nasty but it’s better then in the bottom of river/lake/etc…you gift my drift), instead of killing them for getting in the way. Your right Athena, I’m definitely feeling a bit more jaded these days.

god those children are beautiful….I’m looking at my 5 yr old and thinking damn, how could someone not want their kids….I know, I know… lots of reasons, but they’re all fucking sad.

Athena, you took the words right out of my mouth! I can see you guys’ point, but how long were those poor kids sitting in a dark alley???? How cold was it? We are damn lucky that some bum or crackhead didn’t come along and find himself a new sextoy. Jesus fucking christ, this makes me so pissed off. There is nothing humane about leaving two babies basically in the trash! This is nothing like the mothers who drop their kids at a house and ring a doorbell, or at a firestation. This person didnt give a shit whether those kids were kidnapped, raped, hit by a car, anything! Let’s find this asshole and prosecute them to fullest extent of the law.

“Yeah, bravo for the parents or parent that let their child be taken in by good folks”

No Hippie, no! Bravo nothing! These people were not thinking “My child would be better in a loving home”. They were thinking “I’ll drop them off where it’s convenient for me, I don’t care what happens to them after that”. Think about all the scary things that could have happened to these babies.

solange, my point was, bravo they didn’t kill ‘em, look how many parent’s we read about that do. My god, these children are alive and well, physically. At least these parents had the heart to drop ‘em off instead of killing them off. Yeah, maybe they had little or nothing in their hearts but they obviously wasn’t murdering fucks. So I gotta go with the bravo to them, their kids are alive.
    Peace.

I know Hippie, I wasn’t trying to diss what you were saying at all, but these people are just as bad as the mothers who watch their boyfriends beat and kill their kids (Lena Buhr anyone?). They didn’t murder anyone, but they obviously didn’t give two shits about whether these kids lived or died. To me there is not much that makes me happy in this story. We should be comparing these people to us, not to the sick murdering parents we read about at. Where would they stand then?

Do we know who exactly dropped the children off?

Solange, You don’t know that whomever dropped those kids off knew what time the garbage truck came, or maybe when the place closed and someone would be leaving. You seem harsh to not completely know the details of the situation. We don’t know why those kids were dropped off there. We surely don’t need folks taking up place in prisons for this kind of crime. Someone abandoned two children. They didn’t freeze to death, they were okay. Yes, “something” could have happened to them, but it didn’t. I got to know more of the story before I call the mother a “heartless bitch”.

The two kids not looking alike also seems unfair. My two kids don’t look too much a like. One was from a previous marriage. It doesn’t necessarily mean the mother was some kind of ho or bad person. (maybe she was or is) I just want to see what the rest of the story is for I start screaming “lock the bitch up”.
    Peace

It is horrible these children were abandoned, but it is wondrous that these two are alive.

You’re right Hippiepoet, I take that back about the mom, since we dont know if it was her. But I still think whomever did this needs to be locked up. And honestly, I’m shocked that you and others on this post seem to think that this is not that big of a deal. And please don’t tell me that these people knew what time the garbage truck came or if someone would be coming out of the STRIP CLUB to save the kids. Anyone who cared that much would have left there kids in a different location. Sorry, but I am in complete disagreement with the majority of what you said. Instead of always sticking up for the adults, maybe it’s time people started defending innocent children? Yeah, so maybe we don’t know all the “facts” yet. But I think I know enough to make an educated guess.

  23. mg
    1:35 am on December 15th, 2007

I dont know anything about the neighborhood, but maybe mom was selling herself and put the kids there until she got back? Yeah that really sucks.
If police found her after others told them who the mother was she wasn’t looking for them was she?
    this really sucks.
I have been reading stuff on here ever since first reading about Rowan Ford, (what a horrible….horrible story) I cant get over how truely evil people can be towards their own kids.
This story isnt as bad as others but it is still really…..really bad. What is going to happen is they are going to give these kids back to the mother cause this is just a neglect issue and then in a few months Morbid will post another story and it will be that the kid’s mother’s boyfriend/uncle/brother/husband killed the kids. so so sad.
Or maybe the mom is okay and the caregiver took the kids and she just didnt know it because she was at work or something (we can only hope)

So parent’s or folks who drop off/abandon children are as bad as those that murder. I just cannot agree. I still need more of the story. I do understand your anger, I cannot imagine doing such a thing. After reading stories after stories of parents killing their kids, beating their kids to death, etc., yes this story has a happier ending. Thank goodness.

I didn’t feel like I was “sticking up for the adults”. I try not to be too quick to judge what I don’t entirely know. I just read a brief paragraph about this incident and a report from the link you provided. I know nothing of what these children’s parents are like, or their caregivers. I do not know why they were even dropped off. I still need more info.

Maybe whoever dropped them off was totally fucked up and couldn’t drive to the nearest hospital or firestation. My guess who ever dropped them off lived near that strip joint. Maybe they had no gas in the tank and couldn’t drive them any further. Maybe they were so fucking distraught over something they just dropped ‘em at the nearest place they could find.?????

I’m saddened that someone did this, but I’m elated these beautiful children are alive.

umm…. just would like to point out that mr. speed – the pedophile who had a little girl’s clothes half off in seconds- is ALSO from phoenix…

  29. GothaBella

This happened about four miles from where william speed was at. Phoenix is a pretty drug infested city to begin with. Tweekers are everywhere-like zombies.
They also have a major problem with homelessness. Lots of homeless teens live on the roofs of malls there, too.

good god…. i didn’t realize it was so close…i think i threw up in my mouth…

i visited phoenix in 99 i believe, stayed @ a youth hostel… was pretty naive & got a nice dose of reality… cross dressing hookers with residue (glue???) all over their faces begging for change at 3 in the afternoon @ the corner variety store… arizona mystified me – beautiful with lots of seedy places mixed in…

and to think i went to university in windsor… right across the river from detroit…

LL, you’re exactly right. You can’t visually tell the good neighborhoods from the ghetto at first out in phx.

mg welcome to the group ! #23 I was thinking too mom was working doing a trick or dancing. maybe late picking them up again and someone babysitting dropped them off where she worked.

    LL post # 28 – I noticed that too

#26 hippie come on how much more gas do you need for extra passengers ?
there are 2 kids 9 months apart surely she has been told about adoption and safe places to leave your kids or call centers funny no matter how people these kids are these days they can afford cell phone and did you know you can dial 911 free from any pay phone. There is no excuse for abandoning your kids.

If the kids have differnt fathers then there are probably 3 sets of grandparents God only knows how many aunts uncles and neighbors that would of helped them to make the phone calls.

female or male whoever left off the kids unsupervised needs to be neutered or spauded

no not as bad as killing them but its still a horrible Crime

I have a friend from another group that lives in arizona and they wear shorts all year. I see right now the temps are in the 50’s. The day temps range 60 – 115

    http://weather.yahoo.com/climo/USAZ0166_f.html

They are young enough they will forget if they are adopted out now but when the system drags on and on and gives the parent(s) to try again hopefully they will not fail the kids a second time.

QUOTE Wonder “There is no excuse for abandoning your kids.”

Maybe not for you Wonder, but obviously many parents feel the need to do this, cause the reality is, it happens. And I am sorry but I would rather be reading this, than ” two children murdered in Phoenix cause there POS parents didn’t want them.” We crucify the fuck out of murdering parents, well guess what? THESE KIDS ARE ALIVE! We still don’t know who or why these kids were even dropped off.

As far as the gas comment, Wonder, I was trying to come up with reasons these folks dropped the kids where they did. Yeah it’s a dumbass reason, but ya know what, any reason for leaving the kids there is a dumb reason.
    Peace

we are lucky to be reading that they are alive though…the scenarios that could’ve occurred b/c some fuckwad dropped them off on the road at 4am are too numerous to mention! hit by a car, kidnapped, mauled by a stray dog, hypothermia, choking from putting foreign objects in their mouth…. i could go on and on….

and i don’t care how desperate you are, there are about 1 million safer, more logical spots to “dump” your kids…if you really truly needed to……..

Exactly LL44, I mean I just cannot believe that this person (whomever it is)really did this hoping for their kids to have a better home. I understand that we should wait for more details before deciding who to be angry at, but what else do we need to know to BE angry period? Two babies were left in the middle of the night in the freezing cold in an alley, out with yesterday’s trash. That is enough to make ME pissed the fuck off. There is no excuse or scenario that anyone can give me that would justify this. These arent stray dogs that someone decided that they couldn’t take care of, these are children for god’s sake.

    3:01 pm on December 16th, 2007

Farmergurl, I know that you guys are trying to be the voice of reason, but in reality, are we “angels” for not putting childrens lives in dangers? That should be what any average person does. Whomever dropped these kids off like this is lower than low.

  39. solange822001
    3:03 pm on December 16th, 2007

I’m telling you guys, I know we dont have all the facts, but I am so positive that the intention was not to give them a better life. There is no way any normal person would leave them in the back of a strip club hoping that someone would give them a better home. Yeah sure, maybe they will have a better life, if they even make it through the night. There was no guarantee of that. Those people are damn lucky, or they would be facing murder charges.

  40. Morbid
    3:06 pm on December 16th, 2007

I feel that whoever did this was of extremely low intelligence, but did want the kids found. There is also the slight possibility that the parents of these kids were not the ones who left them. Possibly a murderer who didn’t want the kids left alone, a car-jacking, who knows. I don’t think it was coincidental that the kids were left by trash that would be picked up within the hour. There is also the possibility that they were watched from afar as well.

Not that I am an optimistic person, as the thought of someone leaving two kids by trash to fend for themselves does not surprise me in the slightest, but we will see soon enough.

Oh, had to add, they weren’t placed behind a strip club. The strip club camera caught the car leaving them behind a business.

  41. Morbid
    3:14 pm on December 16th, 2007

I stand corrected. I just updated the story. The kids have been identified and the mother located, although no identities have been released. The dumpster WAS behind the strip club.

    wonder, thanks for the welcome.

I am really hoping that the mom was at work and this was a case of the babysitter or boyfriend messing up. I remember when the Chester Stiles case first came out, i was so mad at that mother for not protecting her kid. I had all sorts of horror stories running through my mind from mom hooking the kid to selling the kid. But it happened while mom, who was young and poor was at work.

It is a very sad situation, but hopefully mom was at work and didnt know this was happening and this will be her wake up call.

“something very odd about this story…aside from the obvious horror of it, they know who the mom is but haven’t named her, nor have they indicated she’s definitely involved in this incident….”

Do you guys think it’s strange that nothing else has been said in regards to this? Even though they have the mom? Usually news gets out pretty quick…
