Seattle – And he finally got some time for it. He was found guilty of repeatedly raping a 32-year-old woman at Kindred Hospital in Northgate last year and has been sentenced to 8 1/2 years in prison. He fondled and raped the woman who was paralyzed and couldn’t speak as the result of a stroke. The woman used an alphabet board to tell authorities about the rape, according to charging documents. She wrote a letter that was read in court by a victim’s advocate.

Even though it was a sick pleasure for Darboe, it hurt me very badly. Only I would know the great pain of biting my tongue while being raped, stilll unable to open my mouth after the stroke,

The letter also said the woman had suffered a second stroke as a result of Darboe’s assaults on her in the critical weeks after her initial medical crisis. While in court, the victim wailed at Darboe from her wheelchair to express her outrage and injury. Not being able to speak, she was able to sum up her feelings toward the man in on simple gesture; she forced her hand into an obscene gesture that she directed at him.

Prosecutors said an investigation into Darboe’s employment history indicated he managed to keep his license to work in health care despite two previous allegations of rape and three claims of sexual misconduct.

I edited out the number in the event that he gave a friend of family member's number.

Appear123, I know you're new, but we try to refrain from posting information like that publically, around here.

As far as I know, caregivers here in WA don't have to be specifically certified (as a caregiver, that is). I really hope potential employers do background checks. If not, they're setting themselves up for a lawsuit.

You guys wont believe this man!!I just taught this guy CPR and First Aid last week so he could get a job as a caregiver. I am not joking, oh my God!!! The phone number he gave me to contact him is xxx-xxx-xxxx, when i called for some reason I couldn’t get through, I was originally trying to get his address to send his a new certificate, as I had mispelled his first name. I spelled it larmin, and he called to correct me, he said, “No my first name is spelled, Lamin”. OH MY GOD, and then this blog popped up, I HAD NO IDEA MAN!!! wow I can’t believe this!!!!

Thanks... I had it in my head to give him a call until I read that you couldn't get through!!
Crap... You had me getting pumped up to get this fella a piece of my mind.

Actually, I just checked, the kid was 15, not 13. Oops.
  • funnymommy
8.5 years and a 13-year-old in another story gets 60??? WTF??? I know the kid had more charges but this guy's crime was just as heinous.
  • Wonder
Nice thought is that he returned to the United STates and they got the conviction ! woohooo in 8.5 yr hopefully they have enough sense to shun him back to gambia to never return again to the states and the officials there are notified of all the incidenses
  • Athena
LL, the previous incidents weren't criminal charges, they were just allegations. Those stories may have never made it to the cops. If so, they wouldn't have shown up on a standard background check.
  • Nyrak
Wow. I applaud the woman for doing all she could to flip this fuckface off.
What a piece of fucking rancid shit.
I can't even begin to explain my disgust. I feel like I'm going to throw up.....
  • LL44
thanks chococat...now I hope the rape victim sues every last hospital that hired this fuckwit after his FIRST criminal charges!
what a strong, brave woman to face her attacker in court! he should've been given attempted murder considering she suffered a SECOND stroke as a result of the attack.

I think this link will answer all of LL44s questions:

Its unbelievable how many times this guy was fired and then hired by some other medical center. They really need to rethink their "normal hiring procedures" - they make it easy for this guy!
  • Athena
8 1/2 years is PLENTY reasonable! We've got victimless criminals, you know, pot dealers and such to make room for. /sarcasm

Seriously, though, this is a shameful sentence.
  • LL44
wonder why his previous charges didn't stick? sounds like this sick fuck picks on ppl he thinks can't tell on him! how did he keep finding jobs? does nobody check references anymore goddammit?!
with that light sentence, guess they didn't introduce his "past" in the case? might interfere with his "rights" i bet!
  • kw
8.5 years is a joke for a sick, violent crime like this.
  • Heather
He should have gotten more time. I don't know why we can't instantly off people like this. He's a sick fuck who'll never get better. What's the point of trying to rehabilitate people like this?
  • Just thinking what this woman went through! She's one tough cookie and kudos to her!! She may not be able to verbalize her outrage but I think we can feel it!
  • Kathy
"Not being able to speak, she was able to sum up her feelings toward the man in on simple gesture; she forced her hand into an obscene gesture that she directed at him."

Priceless. A Woman after my own heart.
