WTF! I hate that this young man’s life is over before it starts. BUT, thank the good Lord in heaven, for the judge’s foresight - this kid cannot be rehabilatated! The only good news out of the whole story is — HE GOT 60 yrs.

More than most pedophiles get, I might add, even when there is a greater age difference between attackers and victems.

I am glad he does not get out for 60 yrs. I just wish the same sentences were imposed when it is 30 year old attacking 15 year old.

Yeah, it was so shocking to learn that not only is this kid a pedophile, but he has also become a sexual predator, a rapist, child abuser, stalker, and a sex-crazed promiscuous monster all in one at only 13! The whole nine yards!!

He'll NEVER be able to have a relationsip with anyone, because as soon as he's told that he can do something, or is denied any sex, he'll go out out of his mind, turn into Frankenstein and may KILL someone. He only knows one way - HIS way.

He can never have kids of his own either, because if he does, he'll harm THEM as well!! No girl or woman would want him at all because of his dark violent horrible past!! He'll go out of his mind now because he can't have sex with anyone.

How in the hell does a young boy become so promiscuous and sex-crazed at only 13?!!

I just read on one of the websites that Sherman tried to clear himself and put the heat on his older brother, saying that HE attacked and molested the girl instead of him!!

That when the police had searched his bro's bedroom, Sherman acted like he knew nothing at all about the attack!!

I tell you, his mind is in question, because before the rock was thrown at him, there was no flare-up. If it was an adult throwing the rock or someone his own age, would he still run after that person and do the same thing? Probably not, since he's also a bully.

Bullies pick on, poke fun at and terrorize people smaller or weaker than they are. I was a victim of that during my school years. I kept being picked on, sucker-punched and the whole bit until finally one day, I had enough and started fighting back.

I punched a boy in the face repeatedly until it was swollen because he sucker-punched me. After that day, no one bothered me any more.

Had Sherman meet his match, was taught a lesson by someone who would not take any more of his bullying and terrorizing ways, he might have changed.

That fact that he was crazed for sex at such a young age, was trying to buy sex and violated a little girl for it, he was branded as a child rapist, child molester and a young monster. And he's not able to get over on an adult because he'd have a very hard time even trying to MANIPULATE an older person.

I still think someone or something turned him on to sex, and from then on, he just couldn't get enough of it. He was like a wild animal on the prowl for his prey! If someone got in his way, he would attack them as well. This, as you all know, is NOT the mind of a normal boy. It's like he
suffers from some kind of metabolic inbalance. Something is just not right in his mind, and when he thinks about sex and when he thinks that the opportunity is there, he turns into Fankenstien.

Sadly, it IS true that because he attacked and sexually assaulted this girl, he may NEVER go back to being normal. He would more than likely go right back to abusing children, and when he turns 16, he more than likely would kidnap and forcibly rape a 13-year-old or even a fifteen-year-old girl!!

Shame on this heartless individual for not giving this boy the chance to at least be evaluated for a possible rehab in a counciling program!!

It certainly wouldn’t hurt to try! Like everyone else who has committed
a violent crime such as this, he should get help and hopefulluy be cured.

I respectfully disagree Malik7. This kid is a true child molester/predator. As such he has no real remorse and, like the proverbial leopard, has zero chance of changing his spots. This is the fact that gets shoved down our throats again and again: Violent sex offenders, especially those who hunt young children, are evil and unredeemable. He poses no threat to any of us. Hell, I wish he would mess with me - There'd be no need for a trial, at least not for him. It is our duty as civilized people to protect the weakest among us from the most deranged. That's what his sentence is about, not revenge or punishment, and certainly not rehabilitation.

Time will tell.

Time has been told. Violent sexual predators are never fixed. Trying to "fix" him is only going to set him loose on an unsuspecting public. Sad that you would allow him into your home.

Can you say "Joseph Duncan III"? Started young and violent. Got rehabilitated. Fooled many into believing his "goodness". Fucked up again. Ran. And now Shasta Groene is the only survivor.

I bet the doctor that stood up for Duncan and had him living in his home after he was "rehabilitated" feels like a more than a fool for getting that ball rolling.

60 years of clothing, housing, feeding, providing utilities and medical care... why bother... when are they going to just FEED them the PILLS and place them in a pine box ... this is ridiculous

good question Wry...

Whew, Malik7, No one has commented on this story in four months and suddenly you show up.
?? related post / Tags / categories

This boy / crime reminds me of this story which isn't linked to related post :S - http://www.dreamindemon.com/2008/07/03/dymia-woody-was-murdered-by-14-year-old-neighbor/

** I have to agree - if you want to mentor or help choose innocent children that need role models and someone to some them love... no point in wasting time and money on a broken soul.

I think I read somewhere that he showed no remorse in court. That he smirked at the girl and felt no sympathy for her or her mom.

So sad! Maybe he IS too far gone. Time will tell.

But it IS strange. That later when the girl threw the rock at him, his mind snapped and he just when berserk on her. But I bet that i’m right by saying that things with this boys went unchecked, then had slowly manifested, causing the boy to turn into Frankenstien - a monster.

If a rock throwing would set him off I think the best thing for us ALL as a society is that ( however sad), he be jailed. He has been damaged beyond repair. While it is possible that he could improve, the real truth is that those brain connections are made in the first years. He couldn't, wouldn't, never feel anything about another human being. So sad. TRUE.

Well, the judge, as we know, followed the girl’s wishes, so let’s all hope that he can still be helped and rehabbed while he’s there.

One can hope. I still think that the damage is done. Especially now that he has been to prison. My father shot his friend when he was 13. An accident. He was a statistic. He and his friend were playing with a gun that belonged to the friends father. My Dad did not meant to shot and kill his BEST friend. My Dad was sent to reform school instead of counseling. He was not even permitted to attend his friends funeral. Let me just tell you that reform schoo taught my Dad how to be mean, not how to deal with his friends death and his roll in the death. It made his life of being a waste of humanity easy. He learned how to do all kinds of nifty criminal stuff in prison. Plus he can kick the dog shit out of any man that so much as looks at him wrong. My Dad had a GREAT childhood prior to that. His parents were married up until my grandfather dies in a plane accident. My grandmother would do anything for her children. So his upbringing was not to be questioned.... In all of the years my father has been a "career criminal" - He has NEVER raped anyone and he never will - But he is still a waste of human space. I love my dad and feel sorry for him - but prison is a great place for him.
Sorry for the life story - I just want you to know that I am not just being hard on this young man. I just have a little insight into the mind of a crimal and I think that "reform" is a rare thing when it comes to criminals.... more so when they start off at such an early age and the cards are all stacked against them.
Have a good night.

I think that the judge made a great choice on this one. If he is committing these types of crimes at 13, I shudder to think what he would progress to by 23, 33, 43… He is a deviant and deserves every day he sits his ass behind bars. While his parents should take blame for his upbringing, at 13 he knew better than to victimize a 6 year old. I hope he thinks of her everytime some one victimizes him in prison. He ruined her life - he deserves nothing less than what he imposed on that poor child.

He won't have any contact with the men or other immates. He's in a special section unit where no other immates can get at him, nor can they talk to him.

Sort of like the supected 20th 09-11 would-be hijacker Zacarius Mousouoi when he went to prison.

Malik - Hopefully you can mentor them so that they don’t end up in his shoes. Perhaps if this child had ANY guidance - He would have been a decent young man. He chose a shitty path in life. He could have chosen to rise above his upbringing and not followed his father’s downward spiral… Shame. I still stand by what I said though - kudos to the judge for keeping a rapist off the streets.

Well, the judge, as we know, followed the girl's wishes, so let's all hope that he can still be helped and rehabbed while he's there.

Well, as we all know, plenty of kids have horrendous upbringings, yet don’t prey on other children. So there was something wrong with this kid to start with; maybe it wouldn’t have been triggered if he’d had a decent homelife. But he didn’t, and it was. And that’s a deadly and unfixable combination.

Here’s the thing about claims that someone was too disturbed, or too mentally ill, or too addicted, or had too low of an IQ, or whatever, to control their behavior: That is all the more reason to keep them locked up. Maybe it’s not their fault; just the fickle hand of fate giving them a raw deal. So, they have my sympathy…but they need to be behind bars. If some kind of physical or mental or emotional or behavioral defect keeps you from knowing something is wrong, and keeps you from controlling your own violent impulses, then you need to be locked up and roaming the streets, period.

I never understand when the defense is, “He can’t help it.” Well, if he can’t help it, then there’s zero chance at rehabilitation. So keep him locked up for everyone’s safety. I actually kind of think that the criminal who CAN help it, but just chose not to, might be a better candidate for rehabilitation. Because at least he has the ability to act differently. If he can only act one way because of his upbringing or whatever, and that one way is violent, then keep him off the streets because there’s not much hope. Maybe not in prison, but somewhere secure.

This part of why I say something very disturbing and horrible more than likely happened in the house that possibly caused the boy's mind t0
go south.

But it IS strange. That later when the girl threw the rock at him, his mind snapped and he just when berserk on her. But I bet that i'm right by saying that things with this boys went unchecked, then had slowly manifested, causing the boy to turn into Frankenstien - a monster.

Whew, Malik7, what is this boy to you? No one has commented on this story in four months and suddenly you show up.

You seem aware of the outrageous horror of what this boy has done and yet you think counseling will remake his entire personality. I hope you’ll take your caring heart and find someone more deserving of help and more likely to benefit from help.

Do you know him or his family somehow? Is that why you are so passionate about Sherman?

No. I don't know him or his family. Nothing passionate either.

I just don't like to see or hear that this boy and others like him get into this much trouble and it puts them behind bars. It's just the caring person in me.

I certainly hope that the children I tutor don't end up in his shoes!!
