Daniel Sorenson’s Head Found; Two Teens Arrested

in the Rouge River on the border between Dearborn Heights and Detroit. 17-year-old Jean-Pierre Orlewicz and 18-year-old Alexander James Letkemann have been charged in the slaying, burning and mutilation of a 26-year-old Daniel Sorenson. They will be arraigned on one count each of first-degree premeditated murder, felony murder and mutilation of a corpse. Neither money nor drugs appeared to be the motive when they lured Sorenson to one of the suspects grandfather's home on NovemberNovember reviews 7 "for the purpose of killing him."
The teens invited Sorensen to Orlewicz's grandfather's home in Canton on Wednesday with the purpose of killing him. During a video arraignment, Canton Police Detective Ken Robinson testified that Orlewicz slit Sorensen's neck with a kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed him in the back when Sorensen entered the garage. "Orlewicz then retrieved a hack saw and proceeded to cut Sorensen's head off with the saw," Robinson said. They had already placed tarps on the floor and purchased cleaning supplies. They then burned off Sorenson's hands and feet with a blowtorch before dumping his body in a neighborhood, and his head in the river.
Police were directed to the boys after receiving a tip. After the arraignment, Letkemann's father Peter briefly addressed the media. "Anyone who knows my family knows that this would be totally out of character for Alex. I love him and we're behind him 100 percent," he said. Orlewicz's family did not attend the arraignment at the advice of his attorney, Joseph Niskar.

They look like little weasels. Prison life isn’t going to be a huge thrill for them. I don’t think the other prisoners are going to care that the person they killed was a sex offender. Especially when they see the curls on one and the feminine bone structure of the other.

Thats pretty freakin gross. So basically he did nothing to them but be a sex offender. Gracious, there are lots of those around here, and some I know. But I dont think I would do this to them. Now the ones who killed little Rowan, yeah, but unless he did something like that he did not deserve this.

Well, from what I gather, this had nothing to do with him being a sex offender. In fact, I read that the charge came from when he was 17 he had sex with a girl who said she was 16, but was actually 14. He was no sexual predator.
These teens just picked him and thought they would get away with it.

Listen, i knew both these guys first hand. please dont fuckin speak about things u dont even know about. J-P is a sociopath and he has mental issues, that all his friends, including me are aware of. Alex was threatened by JP that if he didnt help, he would kill alex too. But see everyone just posts shit that isnt true.

Actually, both of them. If what Icepredator says is true, then JP is crazy and Alex is a pussy. But I would love to know how JP threatened Alex into helping prepping the garage, laying the trap, stabbing the man, sawing his head off, taking him to the woods for a little blow-torchin’, etc, etc. If he was so scared, why didn’t let any of his friends like Icepredator know what was going on? Or did he?
This was not spur of the moment. It was planned.

I agree, and if Alex was being threatened and knew about all this, why not go to the police and report it and get protection. Whether he did it willingly, or by force Alex still did it, and there fore is still as guilty as JP who may have instigated it.

Well, if JP was so disturbed why was he not in an institution? He looks like a weenie, I agree. The other boy Alex looks to be the stonger of the two. They probably just wanted to know “how it feels to kill somebody”. They were bored.
Morbid, thanks for pointing out the difference in “sex offenders”. Teens who have sex with similarly same aged consenting teens are not preditors. Icepredator10 how much info did you have before the murder? How do you know Alex was threatened? Did you know in time to warn the victem or the police?

dan or as his friends called him “bear” did not deserve this. he is not some weirdo sex offender that preys on little girls. he made a mistake as a teen and because of this whole murder thing it got brought out. no one deserves to die like that if they were a sex offender or not. and for all you people out their that feel sorry for the two who did it, get a reality check! the two are freaking warped beyond belief. believe it or not daniel had friends too, and because of what they did to him and the media coverage around it. his funeral was private and a closed casket thanks to these to weirdos, i lost a friend i will never get the chance to say good bye too or give my proper finale do’s to. because of what they did “just for the thrill of”

Depressedfriend, there is only one wierdo on here who tried to defend one of them, the rest of us are completely on your side. A 17 year old who has sex with what he thought was a 16 year old is not a predator, and that incident had nothing to do with what these two animals did. Im so sorry for your loss
