    Stella is in Newton County.

Why yes, yes it is. I can’t remember why I thought that Colleen lived in Barry. Probably because i am easily confused. Nevermind. :)

And no, I dunno why Ken’s not doing anything, or if he’s not doing anything. Last I heard everything was pretty well being punted to Barry County, which is probably why my synapses misfired. My bad.

THIRTY FIVE effing tornados ran through here two nights ago, and not a one of them hit Chris Collings or David Spears square in the nuts, which seems patently unfair.

LMAO. Imp, you are too much

Wow, thanks all for the updates! It’s soooo good to hear that things are finally rolling with this.

Farmergurl, I’m so sorry for the emotional and physical pain you are going through! Please keep your head up, I read so many news stories about people who’s doctor gave them such and such years to live, and they ended up being completely wrong, the people are still alive years and years later…. Please, if you can, keep coming on here and keep us posted on how you are doing. I was wondering why you hadnt been on in the last month

Just a quick update from our friends at the Joplin Glob :)

Both Spears and Collings are seeking changes of venue due to cranky citizens who carry firearms and a total inability to seat a jury anywhere in Southern Missouri, no doubt. And the world has been notified that Colleen Spears is now to be called “The Mother Formerly Known As Colleen Spears” or at least Colleen Munson, not that it will change what people think of her one way or the other. Most this we already covered except maybe Fatso’s change of venue.

I just got an email from Janice. She wanted to let anyone who cared know that the family is hanging in there. Her mother has moved out of the house and is staying with friends and everyone is still living day-by-day and missing Rowan. She also stated she is still having nightmares, and like a lot of people who have experienced the death of a loved one, has yet to mourn.

So, keep her in her thoughts, or prayers, or whatever good vibe thing you believe in, as when that shit finally hits her, which it will, it’s gonna be bad.

I’m glad Janice emailed you, I had wondered/worried about her. I was thinking we need some type of a resolution section on here for when a case goes to trial and/or the outcome. I haven’t posted on here lately - had to take a break, so many heartbreaking stories/cases. I’ve been reading though.

Well, as of today, we are just under two weeks before these POS are set to have the next hearing. I have an X on the calender. March 18.

In all truth, it will probably be another continuance. In hope, they will at least grant or deny the change of venue request and maybe, have that step out of the way.

With everything that has been said and printed and as close knit as the communities sound, will the judge not have to grant the change of venue? I would think that he would, in the interest of “justice” - I almost puked typing that, when associated with either of those POS. But either way, does anyone else think its a given - so why allow another continuance?

Where Rowan’s right to a fair and speedy trial - of her rapists and murderers? The bastards and their rights - my rosey red ass.

here is a slight update. Poncho, Chris Collings’ adopted dad died Friday morning of Leukemia. My mom was very upset. She said that the last time he talked to her before he went in the hospital he said that the police still hadnt released the trailer to him, said that it might not be til after the trial in case they had to re-process it for any evidence. He had still planned to burn it. We went to the visitation tonight. Of course Chris was not released to attend, even under police guard. There was no mention of him. They had a bunch of family photos on display and there were some of Chris when he was little, but not as a grownup. I am looking on the funeral home obit to see if he was listed as a family member. Poncho’s natural kids had pretty much disowned him so wanted to see if they listed him in the obit…………….yes he was listed, home as Cassville (lol, the crossbars motel). So he has basically lost the last person who gave a crap about him, and even Poncho was fed up. And the bad part is that he caused it because Poncho was so heartbroken after this that I am sure it led to his health breakdown, he had been in remission for years and years.

Prayers to Poncho and his family (minus Chris). Thanks Bexter for the news - even though it was sad.

I’m not being mean, but perhaps his passing was a blessing, for Poncho. The poor old guy was spared knowing “all” of the horrific details of Collins actions. Too bad, Collins still lives and breathes, but for Poncho’s sake - even if, he/they had basically disowned Collins - I’m sure the raw details would have killed him. It would me, just being a kid I knew, much less a kid I adopted.

Look at all the damage that these two monsters caused, not only to Rowan but the family members of all involved. It’s astonishing. God bless Poncho

Hurray!!! *does cartwheels through lobby* Thanks Momof4 for the good news. The trial and executions cannot come soon enough. I’d be willing to wait on actually killing them, IF they could be put in general population for a few weeks - but other than that, tomorrow would not be soon enough for them to die a slow, horrible death.

I live in Barry County and hear about this story constantly. It makes me sick. The Barry County prosecutor is seeking the death penalty for both men charged. I know that the Sheriff of Barry County, Mick Epperly usually has to be the one to escort the men back and forth to court because most officers are afraid to escort them because they all want to kick the livin’ ….well you know.

I hope justice is done in this case for little Rowan and both men are put to death!

I live in Cassville, Missouri and wanted to give everyone an update on the trials of the two idiots. Predictions are that the lawyers for both men will push to have the trial moved to another county because of the publicity of the case. The trial is set to take place at 1:00 PM CST. I will give you any other updates as I hear them.

Here is a link to the local news channel covering the case.

Another update about the trial today. They are postponing the case again until late July due to the fact that for death penalty cases the men must have two attorneys each. (Who would want to represent them???)

They also said it could take up to a year before these men will actually be tried for this case. But the delay today was due to the fact that the men didn’t have two attorneys each.

Here is a link to the story about the update. It also has video with an interview with Rowan’s mother.

note, i should of watched video first, collings has no attorney what happen to the one he had - run scared ?

No, Wonder, that’s not what it said at all.

Collings has one attorney - public defender Clate Jay Baker. Who is not a bad guy, by the way. David Spears has Mike King and Cynthia Dryden.

In Missouri, a defendant facing the death penalty must have at least TWO attorneys.

This wasn’t an issue until the DP went on the table. Missouri can try guys on LWOP cases with a single defense attorney. But once the death penalty comes in, things change. Collings has one attorney right now. But in order to try this as a death penalty case, each defendant needs two lawyers.

Also, there’s been an issue with getting another county to take the case for trial. Nobody wants to try this case in their town. The defense wants this as far away from Barry County (or Newton County, for that matter) as possible. My county is ninety miles away and probably too close. Finding another venue takes time.

Seems like I mentioned a long time ago I thought this case would take a good year to get to trial. It’s moving faster than I expected.

Hope that helps clear things up for you.
