This story has been misreported. It is quite sad, actually. I know Tim Cleary from college and he struggles with bipolar disorder, which is strong in his family. Tim’s father had the illness and died just a day or so after this event happened. His father is said to have felt guilt for passing this illness on to his son.
The funeral was for Zeric Harrison, an African-American 18 year old who was murdered outside a club. Cleary wasn’t “beating up” the corpse, but putting his hands on his face repeating “in Jesus’ name.” It is odd, but it was prayer of grievance from a very unstable mind. Tim’s girlfriend is black, who might have a close connection to Zeric.
I hope that this site chooses to not archive this embarrassing event, or at least change the writing to give more respect to a person who has a lot of pain and is in a lot of pain. I know that it is funny when the details aren’t there. But I want Tim to recover and not have this always over his head, especially his name all over the internet. It is so sad.

I do thank you for your information and the links you provided. It definitely clears things up a bit. Although it does make the people at the funeral seem more messed up than Cleary.
