LAKELAND — Marshal Seymour, 40, was jailed SundaySunday reviewsSunday reviews in Lakeland, Fla., on charges of using a child in sexual performance, unlawful sexual activity with a minor and tampering with evidence. Bond was set at $325,000. Seymour committed these sexual offenses while he was a volunteer youth minister at the First Baptist Church at the Mall in Lakeland. And it gets worse. In Mobile, Seymour was arrested July, 1999, on charges of second-degree sodomy and second-degree sexual abuse in connection with a 16-year-old boy. He was then working as a youth minister at Parkway Assembly of God on Dauphin Island Parkway. How was a youth minister, who was previously charged with having sex with a young boy, get another job in a church working with youth? Well, it was God's will and the fact that the sodomy charge was dropped and Seymour pleaded guilty to third-degree assault in lieu of the second-degree sexual abuse charge. This means that when the First Baptist Church ran a background check, the assault charge did not show up, as it was a misdemeanor. This left Seymour with another job, and another fresh group of young, impressionable young boys to put his dick in. God sure works in mysterious ways.

I have changed the one line in the article, the one at the end in which it was asked how a youth minister who has sex with young boys was allowed to become another youth minister at another church, to reflect that he was working with youth, rather than an actual youth minister.

But it clearly states at the beginning of the article that the guy was a volunteer. An it really doesn’t matter at all, as it doesn’t change anything that this man did.
