Kelsey Peterson has now earned herself a felony warrant and is charged with kidnapping, child abuse, and contributing to the deliquency of a minor.

Well, I am here to say that admittedly, my standards vary in regards to who I want to roll around naked with, but in the case of Kelsey Peterson, I could picture her in the woods trying to chew her paw off after getting stuck in a bear trap more than I could picture her in the sack.

From the reports I read, he is a gang-banger affiliated with the 13th Street gang. He was in the Nebraska Boys Ranch in Alliance, where the boy was sent in December after a Dawson County judge deemed the boy an “uncontrollable” juvenile.

Honestly, I have never left a comment on any of these sites before, but after stumbling across this site and reading through some of your comments, I felt compelled to take a second to correct some of your very dense opinions.
First, and this is primarily to “Kathy”, I don’t see why everyone uses a case like this to bash on teachers and schools everywhere. The truth of the matter is, a sex offender can be found ANYWHERE working in ANY field. OF COURSE when things like this happen in a school system it IS a big deal and it IS heavily reported, and I do think that the people who do such horendeous things should be punished….no questions, what she’s done is wrong. However, not every teacher or every school system should be blasted for the actions of one. There are many exceptional teachers in this country who give everything to help students succeed and get paid very poorly for their work (but that is another discussion).
AND, to say that the administration is to blame is simply ignorant. Do you really believe that ANY school system would hire someone if they saw this coming? Do you really believe any school system would turn their head if they knew such activity was taking place? Comments like that are downright moronic, plain and simple. NO school system would condone such activity and my guess is that the administration took the appropriate steps as SOON as they were made aware of the situation.
Lastly, I don’t understand why so many of you on the site seem more concerned with Peterson’s looks rather than what is really important here. A 25 yr old adult has run away with a child, with whom she is accused of having a relationship with……THAT is the issue, not whether or not you would prefer to “roll around naked with her”. My guess is that most of you who have such harsh words about her looks probably look like the back side of a donkey, but thanks to the technology of the internet, we will never see a picture of your busted faces. My advice, have some class people and try to focus on the real issue at hand. Peterson’s appearance should be the last thing you should be concerned with while this boy is still missing.
This will be my one and only entry because unlike you all, I have a life and I don’t need to fill my day by tearing someone else apart to make myself feel like more of a success.

No, I am not a student of hers. I’m not much younger than her and I graduated from Lexington High School. I know, this is why I was frustrated with poeple making such harsh and below-the-belt comments. If you actually knew Kelsey (as you said when you met her as your child’s teacher) you never would have thought something like this would ever happen. And you are normally impressed by the woman she is, this took everyone for surprise. And it is horrible but I refuse to believe Kelsey is horrible.

As in a relationship or being in love with another human being. And the fact that this particular administration gave warning to Peterson instead of immediately notifying the authorities WHICH THEY ARE BOUND BY LAW TO DO, makes me suspect that maybe they were hoping to get rid of their pedophile and keep the whole thing on the down low. Morbid…I am young, but you should not excuse my comments, I’m probably more mature and level headed than most people your age, how ever old you are. I don’t live in a fantasy world, I know magic is an illusion and WWF was staged. And I’m not a doormat, thank you. But I am servant to people, so if you would consider that a doormat than so be it. But I think the definations are different, I’m a servant, because I enjoy to be I want to be there for people and help them. When I was a fourth grader, I was sexually assualted, I told my principal. He did nothing, he didn’t even notify my parents. I just told my mom my senior year of high school. Lexington High School had student – teacher relationships in the past are administration knew about it, they did absolutely nothing. They age wasn’t to abnormal, she was 18 he was 24, but it was still wrong. Two of our teachers got fired from their last teaching jobs for spying on girls changing and being too flirtatious with the middle schoolers, and yet LHS still hired them. It’s happening all over, whether teachers want to deny or not and whether they say they truely care about their students or not. You seemed pretty worked up about this issue, so are you going to do anything about it? It won’t bother me too much if you don’t, I’m not there, but I’m also not the one with a child in a school system at this moment.

lovewins, who said I wasn’t doing anything about school administrations? I do alot actually. Unfortunately, I can only work on a local level at this time. I live states away from the school district I attended and I promise you, I’d homeschool my child in hell before I’d ever let her go there. I’ve made it very plain to that administration too.
But in the meantime, I teach my child to protect herself. I teach her that society is not gonna take care of her. She has to be responsible for herself and her own decisions. I teach her the world owes her NOTHING. I teach her right from wrong. I teach her to DEFEND herself if the need arises. I teach her to OBEY the law. I also to teach her to treat others well and not to be selfish.
Looks like your friend Kelsey needs some of the same lessons. You are not doing her nay favors by coddling her and defending her. she deserves everything anyone here says about her.

LOVEWINS: I have lived in Lexington for over 20 years, I watched Kelsey continue in school after she had her child( this happens to more than a few but few finish school), noticed when she went on to collage and when she came back as a teacher and admired her all along the way, she had so much to offer Lexington as a teacher,coach and a resident, you could say I am shocked just as much as the next guy.
