DUNCANNON, Pa. — Police officer, Robert J. Pavlovich Jr., has been accused of molesting or propositioning 14 girls ranging from the ages of 12 to 17. These girls included a mentally retarded girl, a girl with bipolar disorder who was sexually abused by a neighbor, a girl with a broken arm and a girl whose mother was deployed to Iraq. He is also to have allegedly have girls meet him after curfew in return for favors he would provide such as letting girls use drugs in front of him, alter Breathalyzer test scores, and fail to arrest associates of the girls.

In 1995, Pavlovich was acquitted by a jury of indecently assaulting a teenage girl and was later fired from the Manheim Twp. police department. In 1999, now working as a police officer in Duncannon, three complaints were made regarding his conduct. In 2000, now working as a police officer in Marysville, several parents went to police Chief Jake Stoss to complain and was told nothing could be done.

“The whole thing has been the worst-kept secret in Marysville for years,” a Marysville woman said Thursday. “It makes me and lots of other people sick.”

Pavlovich was placed in the Perry County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail by District Judge Daniel McGuire on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with minors, sexual assault, indecent assault, bribery and corruption of minors.
