Hanahan, S.C. – Sametta Heyward, 27, called her ex-boyfriend and told him that she had “killed her babies”. Triniti Campbell, 1, and Shawn Campbell, 4, were found bathed, dressed and wrapped in trash bags underneath Heywards kitchen sink. Heyward, a single mother suspected of leaving her children in a hot car for hours while she was at work on Sunday. Temperatures outside on that day reached 88 degrees.
The medical examiner is trying to nail down did they die of the heat exhaustion in the car or were they possibly technically alive when she put them in the bags. If the children were alive when wrapped in the bags, they would have been unconscious, because the bags weren’t torn or stretched.
