Brigitte Harris, 26, calling herself “Dark Angel” and “Lady VengeanceLady Vengeance reviewsLady Vengeance reviews“, used emails to lure her stepfather Eric Goodridge, 55, to her third story apartment in Queens. Once there, Harris handcuffed, asphyxiated him and then severed his penis. Revenge for alleged sex abuse when she was a girl.

Harris had left notes in her Rockaways apartment accusing Goodridge of abuse and justifying her crime.

“He wrecked my life,” read one note. “At first, I blamed myself. Now I know it’s not my fault,” another said.

“She planned this – it was premeditated,” a law enforcement source said. “In her mind, it was justified vengeance.”

Police recovered a bloody knife and caught up with Harris after she checked herself into a mental hospital and ranted incoherently about the slaying. So, if the abuse was true, is any of her actions justified? Could an insanity plea be applicable?

    A woman has been convicted of killing her father and mutilating his body in her New York City apartment.

    Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says 28-year-old Brigitte Harris was convicted Wednesday of manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the 2007 slaying of 55-year-old Eric Goodridge.

    Prosecutors say Harris handcuffed and gagged her father, duct-taped a towel around his head and strangled him. They say she cut off his penis after he died.

    Harris’ sister has claimed their father molested them when they were children. The Associated Press normally does not name people who have been victims of suspected sex crimes, but Harris’ lawyer and sister went public with her name.

    Harris faces up to 15 years in prison when she’s sentenced Oct. 29.
