SEATTLE (AP) — A tractor with an 18-foot rotary arm was being used to clear blackberry bushes for a highway project struck and killed a homeless man in a sleeping bag. King County medical examiner’s Office stated Isaac Palmer, 62, died of skull fractures and brain lacerations caused by sharp and blunt-force head trauma. Officials had warned transients to leave the area last week, including putting up new trespassing signs and warning transients of the upcoming brush-cutting, in an effort to clean up a mile long stretch under the freeway that was littered with human waste, trash and needles.
The tractor had been operating for about a half hour SaturdaySaturday reviews
morning before Palmer was hit.
