Seems that way. Bodog.com, a gambling website, has suspended betting on Hell’s Kitchen after the odds for one of the contestanst went from 7-1 to 2-1. This contestant is 30-year-old Rock, an executive chef from Spotsylvania, Virginia.
While this suspension of betting isn’t a 100 percent gaurantee that Rock will be given the head chef’s position at a new Italian restaurant in the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa, remember that Bodog is the same site suspended betting for Survivor: Panama—Exile Island in 2006 when a flood of bets came in for eventual runner-up, Danielle DiLorenzo, when she was still only in the top seven. Bodog also suspended betting on Survivor: The Amazon in 2003 after being tipped off that some CBS employees were betting, correctly it turned out, on who that season’s top two would be.
But I doubt this will hurt the show any, as people watch Hell’s Kitchen for a lot of different reasons, and Monday’s premiere averaged 8.2 million viewers.
