Houston – Initially, Katherine Nadal, 25, had told social workers that when she had awoken from a nap, she found her 3-month-old son, Holden Gothia, had been attacked by her miniature dachshund. The injuries were a gash on the boy’s upper leg and missing genitals. A vet and a doctor later disputed these claims because no blood or human tissue were found in the dogs mouth.

Police are now saying that Katharine used a sharp instrument to cut off the boy’s genitals. Nadal has a history of prescription drug abuse and tested positive for cocaine and methadone the day after the incident.

She has been charged with injury to a child and held on $100,000 bail and her parental rights are in the process of being terminated. The boy will have to go future re constructive surgeries and is currently in the custody of relatives.
