Alicia Dean, 20, a medical student at the University of Michigan, got into a heated argument with her parents. Leaving the home, she got into her Ford Explorer and began backing out of the driveway. Her mother, Dr. Robin Dean, opened the passenger door and held onto it in an attempt to get the daughter to stop. When Alicia continued driving, Robin Dean fell to the ground and struck her head on the pavement, killing her.
Authorities do not know what the argument was about, but neighbors say the parents of Alicia are both doctors and have lived there for 30 years. They were described as normal people, but police state they had been to the residence once before for a domestic disturbance, but no arrests were made.
Police believe that this was an accident, but that if a prosecutor were to file any charges, it would be a manslaughter charge. The daughter is currently in the hospital, traumatized.
