I’m actually gladdened by this news. I’ve enjoyed stomping on Uwe’s nuts over the years as he ruins game franchises by turning them into SilverScreen shitbags. But who in their right mind thinks that anyone else would have made a hit out of these games we love? DoomDoom reviews, anyone? And with everyone piling on Uwe, I feel myself getting defensive over him. Kinda how I feel about George Bush. In both cases, the haters go beyond being rude to the point that they create a lovable caricature out of a real person.

Another thing going on here is the “American Idol” factor. That’s where you let a talentless hack get enough practice at a difficult profession until they eventually become passable at it.
