Two teens were arrested and charged with first-degree assault. Kyle Meredith and Mateusz Dybala, both 16, are charged with pouring drain cleaner on playground equipment located at Victory Villa Elementary School in Baltimore County. This resulted in two year-old Payton Potochney suffering second and third degree burns after sliding down a slide that had been covered in the industrial strength drain cleaner. The youths also face juvenile charges of reckless endangerment and second-degree burglary stemming from the fact they broke into the school to obtain the drain cleaner.
Payton has since undergone five surgeries that involved doctors having to remove skin from several parts of the toddler’s body to place on the back of his thighs and calves, where he sustained the burns.
You can donate to the toddler’s recovery fund via The Payton Potochney Fund at any Bank of AmericaAmerica reviews
