Why am I posting this? Because I’m sick of reading in other forums about how stupid Americans are. You’ve seen the videos of biased reporters asking drunk homeless men where Uzbekistan is, and pretending that this is an indictment of American intelligence, right? Well here is a British TV show which is astounded when the force of some jet turbines blow cars over backwards.

Um. Newton’s 3rd law of motion states that for every action, there should be an equal and opposite reaction. Those turbines are pushing a jumbo jet full of hundreds of people FORWARD. Through the AIR, even. The force of those engines is evident in their everyday use. They are doing just as much work in both directions.

This is an older video, but it is making the rounds at other forums, like Gizmodo, and they should be ashamed.
